Default I just thought of a dock story...

In one of the past threads there were stories of people acting like
idiots and sinking their boats due to a back wash wave over the
transom.

I remember a story of such that a friend told me. He was in the Air
Force stationed somewhere in California in the early 70's and he and
his wife went with some others to a weekend resort on some lake. There
was a nice floating dock provided with the property and there were
boats of all shapes and sizes cruising around etc. The friends were
having a cook out on the dock and trying to enjoy the day. But some
dude had a shovel-nose kind of an affair with blown Chrysler hemi
coupled to a v-drive who was constantly gassing the boat close to the
dock causing obnoxious waves to hit their dock. this made stuff
bounce and roll around and hack everyone off. Obviously, this was
purposely done of course and the guys in the boat were laughing the
whole time.

Then they made a fatal error by gassing the boat a couple hard times
and let off the throttle causing the boat to swamp just a few feet out
from the dock. the clowns boat (big bucks at the time) nosed up and
down it went. The two guys who surfaced from the boat were then met
with a barrage of hand thrown tomatoes, charcoal briquets and probably
some beer bottles..

Needless to say, they swam for a different location than the dock of
the offended.

Moral of the story? Don't be act like an idiot and hack people off.
you might end up being at their mercy...or tasting their wrath.

It's nice to be nice.

One of my favorites is from a friend (Capt Steve Seigle)
He was fishing off a dock in Cape Coral and hooked up a tarpon. He was
fighting the fish when some guy came down the canal way too fast and
pretty much giving everyone the finger. Steve tried to wave him off
but he just kept coming. Well he cut off the tarpon and the tarpon was
so happy he jumped into the boat and pretty much destroyed it.

I missed it, Greg. Which boat did the Tarpon wreck. The cap'ns or the
idiot's?

Cap'n was standing on the dock, it was the idiot who got to dance with
the tarpon.

"dance with the tarpon.?"

LOL! I'm sure he did, too!
