I have found, with a google search, some Promaster Infinity binoculars which are submersible...anyone know anything about the quality of their products? I would be interested in checking out monoculars as well, if anyone has any suggestions on submersible versions of those as well. Check out the Brunton 6x monocular. It's waterproof, but I'm not sure to what depth. Unfortunately, just because a product claims to be waterproof does not imply it is submersible to any depth. For example, the Princeton Tec Yukon HL LED Headlamp is labeled as being waterproof, but a response I got from Princeton Tec indicated that this meant it was only waterproof in a heavy rain or snow, not that it could be submerged and be expected to survive. However, based on a reply from the company, the Brunton 6x monocular is apparently submersible up to 1 meter for a period of 5 minutes. This is, of course, more then enough time to get out of the water in the vast majority of situations, but I still might prefer a product that had better submersible parameters. |
