Walmart's Medicaid Coverage

Citing rising costs, Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest private employer,
told its employees this week that all future part-time employees who
work less than 24 hours a week on average will no longer qualify for
any of the company’s health insurance plans.

In addition, any new employees who average 24 hours to 33 hours a week
will no longer be able to include a spouse as part of their health
care plan, although children can still be covered.

This is a big shift from just a few years ago when Wal-Mart expanded
coverage for employees and their families after facing criticism
because so many of its 1.4 million workers could not afford or did not
qualify for coverage — rendering many of them eligible for Medicaid.

Sweet. Send your employees to emergency rooms and medicaid so the
taxpayers can cover it. Excellent strategy to bolster net profits for
the company that imports more Communist Chinese goods to America than
any other.

Hey all you wingers, make sure to patronize Walmart cuz they believe
in Jesus.

Which is maybe why it is a good time to say a surtax of 20% on all
income unless you can show you and your dependents are fully covered.

For 99% of the uninsured, it is priorities not money that is the issue.
Jack Daniels, cocaine, pot or a car is more important than health
care. Very few except for disabled with low incomes should need a free
ride. Fact is too many are fleabaggers stealing from those that pay for
it or really need it.

Knew of one such case when we lived in the US. They bragged constantly
on how every year they took vacations to the Great Wall, Egypt and other
big expensive vacation spots. Then they would turn to loosing their
home because they had no medical insurance for the triple bypass.

Fact is, it is about priorities for most.

And hospitals should only do the minimum. No exotic crap for
non-contributors. Fr them, a lower standard of care. They do this in
Canada. Waiting line for working, 2-6 weeks. Waiting line for
non-working low tax paying types for the same procedure might be 16 months.

One exception, kids under 18 should get good treatment, having
delinquent parents should not be deemed the kids fault.

Too logical for fleabaggers and fleabeggars. To them it is all about

And once again, you right-wing mooks reveal how little you know.

Wal-Mart was embarrassed into providing really modest health care
insurance to its workers a few years ago when it was revealed nationally
that those workers had to go to emergency rooms for medical care because
they couldn't afford insurance on their meager wages.

Remember that for most of its workers, Wal-Mart is the employer of last
resort. It treats its work force no better than Chinese factories treat
theirs. Despite the fact that many of its workers were working full time
and many more were working as many hours as Wal Mart allowed, they had
no health coverage. It was costing taxpayers millions and millions of
dollars so Wal Mart could increase its bottom line.

Now Wal Mart is heading back to the bottom again. Who do you think is
now going to pay for the health care its marginal and marginalized
workers need?

Oh...and a growing number of employers these days have cut way back on
wages and benefits for their workers so the wealthy bosses can have more
in their paychecks, 401ks and bonuses.

Here's a tip. Don't work for WalMart if you don't like their benefits.

Too logical for fleabaggers and fleabeggars. To them it is all about
shafting the other guy with their delinquency.

So? Open up your own store and show Walmart how it is done.

Fact is you can't provide what you can't afford. Debt and fraud money
print only work so long. USD today hit an all time low against the Yen.
Walmart raises prices for fleabaggers, well, even you will have less.

Fact is your freaking monetary currency is quickly getting ready for a
major devaluation. This depression is about to get much worse.

BTW, got my 1 of 3 installments today as I exit USA investing.

Good part about currency inflation, depreciation of you incomes keeps
prices low.

I know some of you believe in the "goodness" of corporations, but we're

The problem with your logic is that some of us are off of the payroll
and our retirement package is pretty much the core benefit that is
back stopped by PBGC so our biggest variable benefit is a good return
on our stock.

The problem is not with my logic, but with the logic that prevents this
country from having an intelligently designed (ha!) single-payer health
insurance program that covers everyone. You know, like most other
modern, civilized countries have. And the easy way to get around the
objections that one hat does not fit all heads is to have a base program
for everyone and options that can be chosen from a menu. You know, like
those backwards, socialistic Swiss have.

I thought Obama care was going to fix all if this. Don't they have to

I don't know.

I do know Obama care was going to raise costs and this is the excuse
Walmart cites.

They're low-wage employers. Getting the cheapest crap to sell at the
highest margin using cheap labor is their business model.

They're retailers for the Communist Chinese. It's nice that China has
rising wages and rapidly expanding infrastructure. And the Heartland
of America is funding it.

Meanwhile, Walmart doesn't give a **** if its employees have to go to

Excellent.

I thought Obama care was going to fix all if this. Don't they have to
provide coverage now? 2014?

I don't know.

I do know Obama care was going to raise costs and this is the excuse
Walmart cites.

They're low-wage employers. Getting the cheapest crap to sell at the
highest margin using cheap labor is their business model.

They're retailers for the Communist Chinese. It's nice that China has
rising wages and rapidly expanding infrastructure. And the Heartland
of America is funding it.

Meanwhile, Walmart doesn't give a **** if its employees have to go to
emergency rooms and medicare, cuz the tab gets picked up by Mr. and
Mrs. America.

Excellent.

Have you checked out the 'Made in China' items at Home Depot lately? Your 'German' screwdrivers
probably came from China originally - then repackaged in German containers.

I can, me. But then I knew it was coming and volunteered. Hey, get
paid to get out! The last ones out didn't do so good.

2007, I was going to quit anyway when the rumor mill had it cut backs
were coming so I suggest to my boss I would be happy to leave for a
generous buy out. Got my big bonus and left. Right after the RIF, the
boss's boss got a bonus larger than the wages they saved but had buyouts
on top of that.

Fact is, that is what is happening.

But I knew I was economically secure, had a job in weeks. One I liked
better too.

But it was in part due to the 401K/pensions. It allowed me to move them
to my IRA where I waited for the crash. Nothing like being in cash on a
crash and getting money out of corrupt company pension plans. All those
stocks so cheep....

But I engineered my situation, but many are not so fortunate. House
paid for, tons of cash in the bank gives you latitude and comfort others
don't have. A byproduct of fiscal conservatism and hard work.

But what fleabaggers don't want to admit is what is causing it.
Companies get back end inflation, but the market will not allow price
increases easily in tough times, then they have to reduce the outgoing
cash flow to compensate. That means lay off employees to eat it so the
company doesn't go bankrupt.

Bernanke can print money for more 0bama debt but he can't stop inflation
he caused with this practice of print money for debt. But looking at
the markets, this no longer works and real inflation is on the up tick
big time. And more layoffs and lower wages coming. I even know one
company that targets older employees that make more.

Isn't new. I quit now defunct NorTel in 1995 as I could see a collision
course with reality with the then CEO Harvard boy Paul Stern. But got
my pension into my own accounts, saved me the screwing others got when
they went bankrupt.

Age old issue, I remember as publicized case some 25 years ago where a
woman was laid off 2 months before she would get a full pension for that
very reason to reduce the pension payouts. From that day forward, I
said in my name, in my account and in my control. Good I did.

But that is business, the way it works. Learn to work with it or get
burned. Working with it is profitable. Doesn't mater be it the CEO or
the union essentialist asshole or whomever, people with their greed,
envy are out to **** the next guy. Trick is to realize it, protect
yourself against it and be one step ahead, just like chess.

The real world.

Walmart will pass it onto you, higher prices due to inflated costs of
business. Your income will not go as far, you will acquire less stuff,
thus employ fewer people to make same said stuff. Governemtn will get
less taxes as fewer people working. More welfare.

But it is an 0bamanation of Debt.

Oh they do, it affects productivity.

Nothing to stop you from paying someone else's health care if you really
care so much. Fact is no skills, you want a job it isn't going to pay
much. Fleabaggers can ignore the equity of economics, but that doesn't
mean the fleabaggers can escape reality. Too many fleabaggers need to
learn where their real social station is in life.

The lesson will be harsh until they smarten up.

Worse. Since it has been going on for so long, America has lost the
economy of scale outright. It is easier to keep the lead than to regain
it. An the lead has been lost.
