THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A man is dead and a suspected gunman is now
in custody after an early Monday morning shooting near Lacey.

It was around 2 a.m. when the shooting happened in the 9800 block of
Mullen Road SE #E, said Lt. Greg Elwin with the Thurston County
Sheriff's Office.

Elwin says a husband and wife and male friend of the family, who Elwin
identified as 58-year-old Jason Rimmer, got into a argument after a
night of drinking inside their 5th wheel travel trailer.

Police say at one point Rimmer attacked the wife and made threats. The
husband intervened to protect his wife, but Rimmer then allegedly
grabbed a handgun and shot the husband in the chest, Elwin said.

Elwin says Rimmer fled in his car. Medics arrived and rushed the
victim to St. Peter's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rimmer was on the loose for several hours Monday morning but was later
captured near his former Centralia home, police said. He'll be
returned to Thurston County where he'll be held for investigation of
second degree murder and assault.

I heard he was a great guy, real gun safety nut.

JPS should read stuff other than reports of violent crimes.
This for example.
