The Diary of Anne Frank was still being banned in 2010.
The Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition
By Anne Frank, Otto M. Frank, Mirjam Pressler, Susan Massotty
Challenged at the Culpeper County, Va. public
schools (2010) by a parent requesting that her
daughter not be required to read the book aloud.
Initially, it was reported that officials decided to
stop assigning a version of Anne Frank’s diary,
one of the most enduring symbols of the atrocities
of the Nazi regime, due to the complaint that the
book includes sexual material and homosexual
themes. The director of instruction announced
the edition published on the fiftieth anniversary
of Frank’s death in a concentration camp will not
be used in the future despite the fact the school
system did not follow its own policy for handling
complaints. The remarks set off a hailstorm of
criticism online and brought international attention
to the 7,600-student school system in rural Virginia.
The superintendent said, however, that the book
will remain a part of English classes, although it
may be taught at a different grade level.

Uh, school officials decided to stop assigning the reading of the diary
and, apparently, public pressure got them to partially reverse that
decision. And, the article notes, the school officials didn't even
follow their own policies for handling a parental complaint.

Anne Frank was about 16 when the Nazis killed her.

My theory is that the parent who complained was a fundamentalist. Just a
theory.

You've obviously missed the point. The 'fiftieth anniversary edition' was problematic due to its
'sexual material and homosexual themes'. The book is being used in Virginia at the eighth grade
level. Wonder what friggin' liberal decided to rewrite the book? Why must homosexuality be crammed
down the throats of public school kids?

Do y'all reckon it's more useful than math?

Yup, I knew that's all you could say. Like I said, all of these books
are available to the older kids, the fight is over how young they can
start overriding the parents values... Period..

Are you really saying that anyone who is liberal leaning is trying to

who want to impose THEIR values on my kids? You do realize, don't you,
that by banning books YOUR side is doing the indoctrination, don't you?

schools (2010) by a parent requesting that her
daughter not be required to read the book aloud.
Initially, it was reported that officials decided to
stop assigning a version of Anne Frank?s diary,
one of the most enduring symbols of the atrocities
of the Nazi regime, due to the complaint that the
book includes sexual material and homosexual
themes. The director of instruction announced
the edition published on the fiftieth anniversary
of Frank?s death in a concentration camp will not
be used in the future despite the fact the school
system did not follow its own policy for handling
complaints. The remarks set off a hailstorm of
criticism online and brought international attention
to the 7,600-student school system in rural Virginia.
The superintendent said, however, that the book
will remain a part of English classes, although it
may be taught at a different grade level.

Well of course it shoves NAMBLA/DNC values down kids throats, that's why
the libs want to start the indoctrination so young, remember Pedophiles
aren't interested in High School kids....

You read Harry's nonsense? How odd.

Well, I don't see it directly but I read this re-quote and saw that the
whole pretense of his post, was as usual, a lie...

Just a
theory.

Are you disappointed that they've been holding out on the 'good stuff'
for you, Krause?

Well, if you read the article you will see that Virginia isn't backwards
at all, it just isn't ready to indoctrinate 8 year olds to homosexuality
soon enough for the "regressives" here... Remember, "compromise" to a
regressive is only a dishonest deal made as a means to an end...

Have you read Chapman's?

How does the Harry,x-man, plum, iboaterererer, YouDont, whatever
sockpuppet he is using today know what I have read... I went to school
and based on his lies, I assume I have as much if not more education
than he... *I mean, I didn't have to lie about mine...;)snerk

Has Paul made an appearance lately? Maybe Harry will have him drop by
for a visit.

But hey, we'll start with harry and deal with the greaseball up north
later...- Hide quoted text -

I don't have personal info on you, other than your insanity here and, of

services site.

Poor little simpleton doesn't realize that there are other decent folk
in here who feel the same way about him as we do.
