Hey, y'all -
paddlrat here - after a long absence! No, I wasn't in jail, either. Hmmph. Just looking around and am happy to see some of the same folks still hanging in there - wondering how everyone is doing, wondering how the folks are that I don't see around & hoping for the best, you know? I'm a bit surprised at all the spam, though. Not as bad here as rbp-touring, but still . . . Jessica Simpson in the shower? Who wants to see Bart's little sister in the showe... oh, sorry. Nevermind. Like I said, I just wanted to say hello and that I hope all's well with everyone! -- Paddlrat Living proof that rats can swim! |

Looks to me like a substantial part of the old RBP crowd has moved on to other forums. I keep bumping into them on other forums... -- Wilko van den Bergh Wilkoa t)dse(d o tnl Eindhoven The Netherlands Europe Look at the possibilities, don't worry about the limitations. http://wilko.webzone.ru/ |

Still boating, but less so, since we had another kid. I both kayak and open boat now, since I found that open boating all the while was getting hard on my old body, especially for playboating. Hey Wilko, I finally have dibs on a Topo Duo, just have to figure out how to get it from Calgary to Ottawa (not as easy at it would seem if you don't want to pay obscene air freight fees.) I both kayak and open boat now, since I found that open boating all the while was getting hard on my old body, especially for playboating. I have started playboating more and more over the past two years, buying Bliss Sticks "Flip Stick" last year. I've been boating a couple of times a month for the past year or so, and I just returned from a two week paddling trip in the Dolomites (Northern Italy: no water) and Slovenia (high water, constant rainshowers.) Hey Wilko, I finally have dibs on a Topo Duo, just have to figure out how to get it from Calgary to Ottawa (not as easy at it would seem if you don't want to pay obscene air freight fees.) big grin I saw your post and I couldn't help thinking if you'd have more luck this year. I'll probably use my Topo-Duo again next month, to take a beginner down some sections of the Soca river (Slovenia). Wilko (never wanted a clique number: never needed one before someone came up with the idea, so why start getting one afterwards? :-)) That 'someone' was Burntballs, and somewhere out there is the KoTL, still KtL. BTW: a google search will show that another newsgroup has unmasked the burnt one through a sockpuppet. He went away shortly after that, so they probably got him right. --riverman (rbp #2) Hey, Tom: you're not the only aging folk who has a back that spasms out. Gives you the real fear of God, eh? Sounds like yours was enough to cause a change in career....my own is enough to give me cold sweats and thoughts of suicide every time it even twinges. Nothing like going from a spry 30 (in my mind) to 90 years old in a heartbeat, and skipping all those good fading years in the middle! I found a muscle relaxant, Cataflam D, that I take whenever I feel that 'twinge', then another 4 hours later. It puts it DOWN, man! Its great! If you haven't found a drug of choice, I'd heartily recommend trying it to see if it works for you. --riverman |
