Default emergency responders

if you don't have to go out in the storm, don't. i'll be on duty for
24 hours with the local ambulance crew and don't relish the idea of
going to rescue some idiot who was too stupid to stay home during a
hurricane...think of yourself, of your family and of the folks who
would have to rescue you...STAY HOME!

During Hurricane Juan in 2003, we lost two lives up here.
One was a paramedic who was parked on the street next to a major
hospital waiting for calls when a large tree was uprooted and fell on
them. His partner survived.
Stay away from large trees if you can.

got lots of large trees around the house....but the roof needs to be
replaced anyhow....just have to keep the wife and dogs away from the
walls....

This half of the Cowardly Duo is scared ****less and the storm hasn't
even gotten there yet!
