That would be your Zimmerman-like bike, right?

Nope, it's Italian, and it's very fast. Faster than your pushrod V8 hawg
car under many conditions, I am sure, though I'm not a skillful enough
rider to wring its best out of it.

I can't do this, but I've seen tests of the same model I have run the
quarter mile in a hair over 10 seconds, with a terminal velocity of 145
mph. How's that hawg 'vette do in the quarter mile?

Bull****, YOU said right here last year that you bought a Kawasaki....

And that was probably a lie as well. As many times as he's said that
no one needs or should have a high perfomance boat, car, etc., you can
be sure he didn't buy a high performance bike or sports car. And if
he did, em would be along in a minute questioning his manhood, right?

This is really some high-dollar entertainment, and for free! :-

Actually, I did buy a Kawasaki, I kept it for a while, more than a year,
and then I sold it to buy an Italian bike, which was my first
preference, but I didn't want to make that sort of investment until I
determined whether I'd still enjoy motorcycling.

My guess is that my non-British sports car accelerates about as fast as
your 'vette, and that you have 10-15 mph top end on me. Maybe, if your
valve train can actually take it. I know my non-Japanese Italian motorcycle
will out-accelerate your 'vette on the straights and in the
right driver's hands (not mine, to be sure), blow you right off any real
sports car racing track. I know that because a model similar to what I
have has been raced against Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and has come out
on top...with a pro motorcycle racer doing the driving.

Yeah, sure. You sure can cover up your lies well, or at least you try
hard. If you want to save face, post a picture of it in front of your
new boat with the twin diesels.....

Hey! He has a "non-British sports car" and a "non-Japanese Italian
motorcycle"! Don't you dare make fun of him! LOL!

And you have a boat and car I wouldn't even consider owning. Yawn.

Inadequacy? You mean because I wanted to "experiment" with an
inexpensive motorcycle before I bought an expensive one? Many years ago,
while in college, I suffered a neck/back injury that was severe enough
to make it impossible for me to ride the motorcycle I had at that time,
a two cylinder Honda. I had to sell the bike. I was fairly certain the
injury over the years healed properly and that I could ride a motorcycle
again. So I spent a small amount of money on a Kawasaki to see if I
would be able to ride reasonable distances, up to a couple of hundred
miles. After messing around with the bike locally, one morning I drove
off to Virginia Beach and back. It was a successful trip, neck and back
wise, as it were, so I seriously began considering getting the bike I
really wanted. Simple enough.

Or do you think I am feeling "inadequate" because I'm not ashamed to
admit I am *not* a skilled professional motorcycle racer? Well, I'm not.
Driving a motorcycle around a sports car track at 160+ mph is not
something I would do. But...a bit of stoplight drag racing against
snotnoses like you in 'vettes? Absolutely. Actually, I haven't had the
pleasure with a 'vette, but I have had some fun with boy racers in V8
Mustangs, Chryslers, and BMWs. When they finally pull up next to me at
the next traffic light and say, "What the hell is that?" I have the
pleasure of saying, "It's just my Duc, a little Italian motorcycle."
And it's not even the "hot" model.

Nothing against your 'vette...nice car, but not my taste. Too big, and I
don't much like the interiors.

will out-accelerate your 'vette on the straights and in the
right driver's hands (not mine, to be sure), blow you right off any real
sports car racing track.

LOL!

It's a Vespa. Now that's Italian. Does anyone really care about all this?

heh.. I haven't seen much of it since I did a total kf the other day
using the sprint card, watching the data limit;) Added Harry, and his
clone, Don and his clone, JPS, Bob, and the three (? I think) stalkers
who only answer them. Now I get you, wayne, and a couple others only..
Real time saver;)

You're using a cell phone to read usenet?

I tried that as a giggle a few times, since I have an unlimited data
plan, but it was a pain in the ass.

Here is some good info on diesel prices.

Worldwide demand for diesel has gone way up.

Good information, thanks.

It is obviously biased away from popular folk wisdom however since
there was no category in the pie chart breakdown called "Greedy
Corporate Speculative Excess Profits". *I don't see how they could
have missed an obvious item like that in an otherwise well researched
article. * *:-)

Agent just ate my reply with a typo, and in 13 yeaars, I have never
figured out how. Our Lincoln Navigator has four cams and 32 valves and
only manages to get 14 at 70. The thing some real walnut trim,
steering wheel, little plates containing the window and door lock
switches. Nice looking. So, I sometimes call it:' The Sliverado.'

My Silverado gets 14 mpg - when I'm pulling the travel trailer. But, that's
40% better than my
4Runner got, so I'm not complaining.

My 1999 Expedition sucked fuel. *14,5 mpg was about normal. *In 100,000
miles the best I ever got on a long trip was 16.5 mpg, and that was from Los
Angeles to Pleasanton and I do not think I ever got over 65 mph. *My 300 HP
327 SS 1964 Impala got better than that, and would do 142 mph.- Hide quoted text -

My 'vette has 436 HP, does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds, and has a top speed
of 190 mph. I'm getting 22 mpg around town and nearly 27 on the
highway. Of course, it only weighs 3200 lbs and it's easy to push
through the air. You just can't compare these big, heavy, blunt SUVs
to cars. Apples and oranges.

'Vettes don't make very good prime movers of 5th wheel trailers. But, they are cute little buggers.
If I could fit in one, I'd have a Mazda Miata, or whatever they're called now.
