Thanks again for all the help that has been offered here as I look for my first
kayak. Based on what has been said today I have decided against an inflatable and decided to purchase a used recreational kayak. At first glance, the term "recreational kayak" made me think of the cheap crappy boats they rent out at the town pond, but after a little searching I have found that there are some used recs available for under $500 that would suit my purposes just fine. My main interest is to explore the islands of Long Island Sound on kayaking journeys that would last no longer than 4 hours at a time. I have found a number of online message boards where people sell used kayaks including E-bay and onwatersports.com. Does anyone know of any others? Chris |
