Default Local Boat Show

They called it a " Fishing and Leisure Show ".

It seems Yamaha is producing Boats that look like exact copies of Sea-
Doos.Excitable color schemes, but I wouldn't give you a plug nickel
for any of them. No Transom scrap. They're for the younger folks.

There was only about 6 Boats on display that were Cuddies, Four Wins,
Regal, Bayliner. The Four Winns was a 26 footer, a real nice Boat.

There was only TWO closed-bow Runabouts to be found. Seems like most
producers only want to make open-bow junk.

One manufacturer called Sea Spray had some nice closed bow " down east
" styles on hand.

There was 2 Antique Unlimited Hydroplanes on display. One was " Miss
Supertest " , and the other was Guy Lombardos " Tempo VII "
It seems that the Miss Supertest has had the Merlin engine gutted to a
point to make for less stress on the floor of the storage area it
usually rests in. So I was told by the staff on hand.
As far as I know, the Tempo VII s Allison is still complete. Just
seeing these monsters up close is amazing. Off-set Rudder, and all.
Speedos were built right into the Rudder. All that mahogany was
amazing.

Almost all of the larger trailers now come with disc brakes, and fancy
aluminum rimmed tires.

There were also a few " Party Barges " as I call them on display. One
on display only had a 65 horse on the back. Seems a little under
powered for nearly a 26 footer.

They had two Stripers on display. Dam fine looking Fishing Boats.

My Camera died awhile ago, so I couldn't get any pics.

Everyone was packed in like cattle in the Fishing Equipment area. They
" thought " they were getting deals, but I've helped friends with
their Tackle Store, and there were no deals. The Merchants make you "
think " you're getting a deal.

It was a good morning.
