Didn't take you long to ruin an on topic thread, asshole. Developing an allergy to epoxy might be a good thing because it would stop me from building more boats. I have decided no more boats for now. I might decide to sell my 1981 S2 8.5 m sailboat and buy a 33' Morgan OI with 50 hp diesel instead of building a bigger sailboat. |

Especially with the economy half way in the swill, you might be able to find a really good deal on what you want..... |

It would be a lot better suited to cruising the Bahamas although not as much fun to sail. There are tons of older sailboats on the market right now. If diesel goes to $10/gallon I might be looking for one also. |

I'd like to go further than the Bahamas and my 28' is a tad small for that. The 33' OI is twice the weight, nearly the same draft and is well made. 33' is about the largest I'd like to singlehand. |

Drilled holes thru the glass and into the wood and injected epoxy with a syringe then seriously clamped it. Today I replaced the stock water/fuel separator on my bass boat with a Racor with a clear bowl. I could never understand how you are supposed to tell when the sealed filters are in need of replacement. Change the filter once or twice a season. More often if you have a known water problem. Hint: pour the filter contents into a glass jar to see if you have a water problem. I prefer the clear bowl. I have one on by big boat and there's no guesswork. I've never had much water to drain but you never know what you are pumping into your tanks. |
