Pirates and Preachers

I think the U.S. Navy acted appropriately in the tragic incident
that resulted in the deaths of Dr. Bob Riggle, Phyllis Macay and Jean
and Scott Adam at the hands of Somali pirates. Caution has to be Job One
so long as there is a chance at least some hostages might be freed. The
Navy was watching and it was cautious.

From what I have read, we don't know what event(s) precipitated the
shooting of the hostages by the pirates. Whatever penalties they were
facing surely weren't as severe as what happened after they murdered
their hostages.

The areas in which these pirates operate is enormous. Obviously, more
countries need to participate in patrol and interdiction.

Actually, Bert-Birther, I do have a clue. I'm aware of the participation
of a number of nations in the anti-pirate patrol, but,
it isn't enough.

What is enough? Be specific. Propose a solution.

One solution is to put all you mustered out military rah-rah types in a
dory with oars and shotguns and send you out on anti-pirate patrol. That
might not take care of the pirate problem, but it would give you boys
something useful to do...and with guns, too.

Still with the personal insults and never a constructive solution. You
must make the left proud to call you a associate.

It was sarcasm, bertie-birther. I don't have the answer. Neither do the
governments of those fighting the pirates. Neither do you, or anyone
else in rec.boats. I was just posting a way to keep you war-mongering
assholes busy.

Nobody ever solved a problem without an idea and you have never had an
idea. So, we are not surprised that you don't have the answer.

Well, bertie-birther, as soon as you have a reasonable idea on how to
end piracy, I'm sure we'll hear about it.
