Got my "unshrinkwrap" date scheduled, along with an approximate relaunch date and visit from dealer's mechanic. How far away can April be, anyway? After looking over the poster names and header titles of the kazillion posts I "missed" while away, I decided the best approach would be to not read any of the posts, so I simply marked the newsgroup as "read." If that offends anyone, well, I'm glad! Show us a picture of your boat. About everyone has seen islands before. I thought he sold it. I wonder if this is the new one that he somehow had shrink wrapped before delivery;. Or maybe it's not Harry. Could be a spoofer. If this is the real Harry we will see photos of the boat sitting on the Hard. As the shrink wrap is being removed. A photo of the hour meter before he launches the boat, and a photo of the hour meter when he returns to the dock. etc. Harry HAS to photo graph all aspects of his life, just to prove he has a life. Who else photograph a hole in the ground, then photo graphs the hole with concrete in it, then the post etc. |

I do miss the opportunities we had when we lived in north Florida with a few really bright sunny and warm days in the doldrums of winter. I remember being out fishing one 70+ degree day in February, casting under some piers and catching nice-sized flounder. Is that how you met Fla Jim? |

Cant get near the Boat (unless I wanna trudge through 4 feet of snow) Im also setting up a re-power for the old Gal. A friend of mine has a burnt-out Bayliner Avanti that I can buy the Volvo-Penta Intermediate, and drive off of. When I do that, I'll also be going from a V6 to a V8. Now, do I get a 305, or a 350? |

No, it has been delivered already, so we can expect the daily photos very soon. |

I did know quite a few retired Navy types - they were everywhere in the Jax area. |

But it's coming . the high to day in my locale is to be 35, then 60 on Sunday and rain like crazy. but it's coming. later in mach i hope to have the Marquis done, and ready to go for the river run. until then, I look at it,and it looks and me, and that's about it... I'll admit to only having driven twice this winter to the storage yard to see how the boat was doing. The shrinkwrapper did a good job. The boat was immaculate and dry when she was wrapped, so getting underway should not be time-consuming. It's in the 50's here now, but it really still is winter. I recall at least one serious snowstorm in the DC area as late as mid-April. We've got a better slip at the marina now. Last year, we had a "temporary" slip because we didn't rent until very late in the season. I was wondering how the inside moisture is controlled under the shrink wrap? Is there a provision for some means of insulation? I'd think that condensation would build on the inside, somewhere. |
