Drones might be good to spot, but an Apache 30mm rounds might be cheaper

If you are involving a pilot, an A10 is probably a better choice. Same
gun but you also have the capability for a lot of wing mounted

primitive air fields like you might have in Africa or south Asia.
We have a buttload of them sitting out in the desert.

I believe they can do a carrier too. They can all practice together.
Move the practice to the coast of Somalia. Minimizes costs and
maximizes the efforts.

It does violate the rule of big government though. That is, find new
more creative ways to waste taxpayers dollars so to ask for more.

around to show it live on the 6 o'clock news. :-)

I think it's all a matter of priorities. Four americans go where
they didn't belong, in a boat, and pay the price. Is that a crisis or
just a personal tragedy for the friends and families involved? It's
not happening every day, and it's not happening on our door step.
Most of the pirates around here are running marinas and boat yards.

Exactly where do Americans belong? Why do our taxes pay for the US Navy?

Correct. Of course, I think we (as a nation) should try and help
them.. all means at our disposal.

Why not? If I were sleeping with and feeding the enemy, I then am an
accomplice by association. Boom, blow the whole building. No more
future little terrorists.

I don't think that's ok at all. This rarely happens these days.
Mostly, these people are out and about.
