....snug as a bug in a rug, all shrinkwrapped just waiting for a snow storm.
Guess I'll go play 18 holes and hope the ponds are frozen over enough to bounce the short balls up to the greens. Yeah, it's only -4.2C, but the wind's not too bad. |

It's 22F in my backyard right now, and the wind is at 12 mph, from the west. I don't recall the formula, but I'm sure that brings the wind-chill down to the teens. |

Walking five miles tends to ward off the chills. As long as I can keep my ears (muffs), hands (gloves) and feet (shoes and activity) warm, I'm OK. I thought I'd come back and find an apology from you. Guess not. |

Poured yesterday after we got the Christmas tree in the Santa Cruz mountains. Went to Santa Cruz and got some stuff at Costco and a pizza and went out to Steamer Lane to watch the surfers. Only one standup paddle board guy and small swells and calm seas. Should have taken the boat out crabbing at Pillar Point. http://www.surfline.com/surf-report/...lifornia_4188/ Surfcam during the day. |

Speaking of Christmas trees...did happen to see Al Roper, et al, asking for contributions to NBC's 'Green Week' to plant trees in an effort to replace all those cut down for Christmas? I saw it during the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center lighting show. Their begging almost brought tears to my eyes. Of course, there was no mention of the fact that about 98% of the Christmas trees used in this country come from Christmas tree farms. |

What was on those Christmas tree farms before they scraped the land off and planted Christmas trees? Weeds. |
