The plan we are on and the timetable came from the Bush

I have said all along we will still be in Iraq in 2014 and I don't see
any reason to believe that is wrong. There are still 50,000 targets
there, with the Pentagon waiting for an excuse to be reinforce them.

let's see...combat will be taken over by the afghans in 2012.

See that on your crystal ball? BTW that is 2014, not 2012.

bush ran this war for 7 years with no progress.

And Obama is coming up on 2 years with no progress.
When we finally leave it is going to still be a **** hole ...
dominated by a stronger Taliban than there is now.
Every innocent person we kill results in dozens of new Taliban
members. Everyone in their extended family.
We have become the Soviets to them.

Two years of no progress because Bush left such a mess. We haven't
become the soviets... we might become them, but not so far.

I don't see any different policies or timetables coming out of this
administration. It is fun to blame Bush for everything but some ideas
are just fundamentally wrong, no matter who is doing it.
Our man in Kabul is negotiating with the Taliban as we speak so I
think the whole mission was a waste of time.
We keep fighting terrorism like it was a central government endeavor.
There is no central character or even a central organization. We are
fighting an idea and the next attack is as likely to come from
Indonesia or Africa as Afghanistan/Pakistan.

Today I heard there is an idea floating of doing away with the TSA. Probably be
the smartest thing we've done lately.

nope. part of the negotiations is a guarantee that al qaida will never
be permitted to establish residence in afghanistan and attack the US.

Nonsense. Bush had no timetables. None.
He resisted every call for such.
McCain and other R's have castigated Obama for his timetables.
Let Afghanistan fester as he ****ed with Iraq too.
Morons call Afghanistan a 10 year war.
The war only got going after Obama came in.
More casualties in Obama's 2 years than all the Bush years.
Because our boys are fighting now.
There is a timetable and a plan.
A man, a plan, Afghanistan.

It is fun to blame Bush for everything but some ideas
are just fundamentally wrong, no matter who is doing it.

It's only fun when his defenders pipe up, as you do here.

Our man in Kabul is negotiating with the Taliban as we speak so I
think the whole mission was a waste of time.

The "mission" is simply a working government in Afghanistan so we don't
have to re-invade. Easy concept to grasp.
That goal has been repeated ad infinitum.
Your fault if your ears don't work.
Doesn't matter if Taliban is part of the scenery there.

We keep fighting terrorism like it was a central government endeavor.

Nonsense. Yemen and Somalia are also in the crosshairs.
And all stable governments are fighting terrorism.
Even the unstable governments of Somalia and Yemen are doing so.
Why?
To avoid becoming Afghanistan.

There is no central character or even a central organization. We are
fighting an idea and the next attack is as likely to come from
Indonesia or Africa as Afghanistan/Pakistan.

Uh, AQ has been behind every attack. You haven't heard?
You thought it was the Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory carrying out
attacks on the U.S.?
The "idea" you mention isn't an idea.
It's basically "kill Americans" and any innocent who gets in the way of
that.
Pretty easy to defeat compared to real "ideas" that find widespread
support.
Costly, but not even close to that spent against commies and Nazis.

Cross their heart and hope to die huh?.

i know you're kinda stupid, but it doesnt take alot of imagination to
see that a residence of troops in the country will guarantee this....

not too bright, are you?

Karzai will be lucky to protect his phony baloney job. He certainly
will not have much influence with the Taliban and that is why he is
trying to cut a deal with them.

no one gives a **** what he does. he'll probably be one of the 1st
victims of the taliban. which is fine.

Yes they are everywhere, it is not a central organizations,

neither are US special forces. they can go where ever, whenever
needed.

It is clear the terrorists have already won. All they need to do is
bungle an attack and we take away more rights from our citizens.

if they won

why are they still fighting?

We are still occupying Germany Japan and Korea, what is your point?

'occupying'? i dont THINK so. the japanese pay us to be there. the
koreans...and i've been to korea...are happy to have us. and we're in
germany by treaty

At a certain point they are going to bleed us dry. We can't afford 800
billion dollar crusades trying to stop any yahoo with $50 worth of
PETN.

that's george bush's strategy. there are other options, as obama is
demonstrating

you simply can't understand it.

Because we are still occupying their country and killing innocent
women and children.

according to the UN, 90% of casualties are inflicted by the taliban

but you're a fascist at heart, and hate the afghans so you have no
problem with that

I understand it, Obama's plan is groping people at the airport

As you understand it is nonsense. Of course, everything is Obama's
fault and if it isn't fixed instantly, he's either the Devil or Hitler
or Stalin or some combination.
