My trip to the Abacos in my 28' sailboat which has turned into a
caving trip is suddenly getting crowded. I shoulda expected this. Cavers are all crazy and think nothing of jumping at any opportunity for crazy adventure. Whereas I could not get any sailing types to go unless I offered more "civilized" accomodations, the cavers think nothing of bad food and being uncomfortable so I now have too many crew. Me: Its only a 28' boat. Matt: I'll sleep in the dinghy behind the boat or maybe I'll put my climbing hammock up the mast. Me: I get really annoyed and moody when the boat is crowded. Matt: OK, Alan and I will take turns, he can go ashore and hitchhike one day and me the next. We'll leave our caving gear on the boat. Me: Where would you sleep? Matt: I'll take a piece of plastic I sleep under on my trips. BTW, can you carry my dive tanks? Then there's the single woman who wants to go, how do I say no to her to keep my wife happy? |
