Somewhere in Chapman's there should be a section on dock lines with diagrams. Spring lines are used to control the boats fore and aft position, and are usually long to allow the boat to rise and fall with the tide while maintaining the same position laterally. Ah... ok. I was thinking side to side. Dock lines on all "four" corners, then spring lines so it doesn't run out the back or hit in front. -- Nom=de=Plume |
