Nicandra Diaz-Santillan, Whitman's 'Undocumented' Former Maid: Candidate
Never Asked For Papers (UPDATE)

The Huffington Post

UPDATE: 2:42 p.m. ET -- Meg Whitman knowingly employed an undocumented
worker through 2009, according to attorney Gloria Allred.

Nicandra Diaz-Santillan, the employee, sat next to Allred during a press
conference Wednesday and tearfully detailed her experience as a
housekeeper for Whitman.

Allred told reporters that her client was paid for just 15 hours of work
per week, despite working past those hours. Allred claimed that when
Whitman hired her client, she never asked if she was in the country
legally. She also said that her client had been "exploited,
disrespected, humiliated, and emotionally and financially abused."

"Nicki" told reporters that when Whitman let her go, the Republican
candidate for governor said, "I don't know you, and you don't know me."

Allred refused to answer a reporter's question about whether her client
would face deportation after coming forward.

As the LA Times reports:

* * *"I told her I don't have papers to work here and need her help,"
the worker said at a press conference in attorney Gloria Allred's
office. Whitman's husband "was very angry and said, 'I told you, I told
you she was going to bring us problems.' Ms. Whitman turned to him and
said, 'Calm down, calm down.' " She said Whitman's husband "yelled" at
her. "I was crying for fear and intimidation. With a face full of tears,
I told them, 'I believe in people. And I believe people deserve a
chance. I also told them I don't wish them any harm. I just wanted their
help.

Herr Krause. Read the comments. They tell much.

Example:

"Oh my!! Pray tell, what has the federal govt. done about the MILLIONS
of ILLEGAL ALIENS IT KNOWS are here ILLEGALLY??
I thought the prez was against the "them and us" position -- so WHY
would this be considered a "big deal" to anyone on the LEFT??!!!
Surely, this article is intended as tongue-in-cheek, right?! I mean,
NO ONE can take this sort of thing seriously UNTIL THE FEDS actually
demonstrate that THEY will DO THE RIGHT THING about ILLEGAL
IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT!!! Ohhhh, the hypocrisy of the left just knows
no bounds!! "

http://www.chron.com/disp/discuss.mp.../7224531.html?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.. Seems like it's been proven to be a complete
fabrication. All papers were produced within hours but the DNC will keep
running with it, it's what traitors do...

You mean to say, of course, that Whitman came up with a handful of
explanations and excuses, not that the allegations have been "proven" to
be a complete fabrication.

If you had managed to get yourself an education, you might now be able
to understand these nuances.

It is just Gloria Allred looking for her next meal. Freaking lawyers.

You think the lawyer is going to make big bucks from the impending
deportation of the former Whitman housekeeper?

Or are you just expressing the usual jealousy over someone who put in
the time and effort to get some college degrees and work in a recognized
profession?

This heartless bitch wants to run California. I hope she ends up
squandering most of her fortune in a loss. Female Republicans seem
even colder than their male counterparts, if that's possible.

Good point, there are two buttwipes running for the office, just like the
presidential "election" in 2008.

As you are a semi-literate, uniformed cracker or cracker wannabe
conservative, I'm guessing you mean Whitman's opponent in your insult to
her opponent.

Here's a question you can ask yourself. Why would a state attorney
general be prosecuting someone for alleged violations of federal
immigration law? Especially in a state where the majority of citizens
have declared their cities sanctuary cities.

Perhaps you should stick to your other area of non-expertise...economics.

Considering who her opponent is, I was being generous.

That's a good point - everybody's doing it.....WTF? Based on your absurd
comment, California doesn't need a governor or AG. Hasn't done them any good
in 50 years.

Perhaps you should stick to your other area of non-expertise...economics.

I agree, punishing companies and bleeding the population to support the non

You read a lot of Tolstoy, or just look at the pictures??

I've read quite a bit of Tolstoy, along with the works of other giants
of Russian literature. The actual books. You, on the other hand,
obviously are a fan of classic comics.
