guess you missed the part that the rich get a 3.8% tax cut

the middle class? 1.5%.

this is why the economy collapsed. the middle class gets zip. we cant
spend because the weatlhy keep taking more and more.

try looking at the figures yourself. *a guy making 50K gets 772 in tax
cuts. a person making a million gets far far more.

Wrong. The family making 50k got a 48% reduction in taxes. All of
the other giveaways are phased out by the time you hit $200k or so.
You just don't want to see (or are incapable of seeing?) the big

ah. i see you don't know how to do percentages

a guy making 50K gets a tax cut of 772. that's 1.5% of income

the guy making a million gets a tax cut of 38,000...that's 3.8%

read it and weep.

The top 20% of taxpayers have a larger tax liability under the Bush
tax cuts than they did before the cuts. The bottom 80% all have a
smaller tax liability. And within that top 20%, the top 5% is the
only segment who's liability went up, meaning if you made $136k or
less your liability stayed the same or went down. So, the top 5%
shoulders a larger percentage of the tax burden after the cuts than
before the cuts.

See table 4 at http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/323.html

The top 20% pays 81% of the taxes, and the top 5% pays 60%. Stop your
whining.

the FACT is that the wealthy get a BIGGER tax cut under bush than the
middle class does.

i just gave you the figures AND the reference. where are YOUR numbers?

The bottom 80% all have a
smaller tax liability.

actually they dont the ultrawealthy have a 15% tax rate, and, with
write off and deductions have cut their tax liablity in half over the
past 10 years.

And within that top 20%, the top 5% is the
only segment who's liability went up, meaning if you made $136k or
less your liability stayed the same or went down. So, the top 5%
shoulders a larger percentage of the tax burden after the cuts than

and they should. their incomes went up 500% in the past 30 years. the
middle class had NO increase at all. none.

they SHOULD pay...plus they engineered this disaster. let them pay

you right wingers just love to defend the rich. they **** us like
we're $2 whores, but in your mind, the middle class is nothing more
than sheep to be slaughtered

more rightwing bull****

james surowiecki, writing in the august 16 issue of 'the new yorker'
points out the following:

-between 2002 and 2006 the bottom 99% of incomes grew 1.3% per year in
real terms
-the top 1% grew TEN PERCENT A YEAR in the same timeframe
-the top 1% has seen its share of national income double
-the richest 1% has 23% of the nation's income
-the richest 0.1% has seen their income TRIPLE in 5 years
-the richest 0.1% earn as much as the BOTTOM ONE HUNDRED TWENTY
MILLION PEOPLE

so you right wingers sit here defending the rape of the middle class
while spouting your bull**** about how rough the rich have it.

you're ****ing idiots. really

don't think people with kids deserve a break?

uh no. unless you want me to post a jpg of the entire chart here. i
picked 1 number because it was the median middle class income vs the
millionaires.

yep they will go up. but they're going up anyhow. the wealthy will see
to that. you dont think they're ever going to pay their fair share, do
you?

I am willing to go back to the Clinton era tax rates where you think

you mean when we had full employment and a balanced budget??

uh...yeah. i'll take those days vs bush's depression era economics.

I still think that may be the best option if you really think the
Clinton era was so great.
I notice you didn't get a raise then either. It was great for that guy
with the $6000 umbrella stand tho. Bush put him in jail.

nope i didnt get a raise. me and the entire middle class

but the right ignores THAT little bit of fact

I never ignored that, You are the one who seems to think everything

yes, the middle class made more money and had lower unemployment under

Interesting article on millionaire myths.

http://financialedge.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0810/7-Millionaire-Myths.aspx

One in particular is "Millionaires don't pay their taxes". Fact is that
those in the top 1% of income pay 40% of all taxes paid.

Another: "Most millionaires inherited their wealth". Not true. Only 20%
inherited money.
80% earned it.

Another: "Millionaires have high paying jobs". Truth is, some do, but half
of them are
self-employed or own a business.

Another: "Millionaires drive fancy cars". Truth is that the majority of
millionaires own a Ford.

Article summary:

"The Bottom Line
Maybe you see a pattern he today's millionaires are people who live
within their means, budget and spend wisely, and focus on financial
independence first. These are habits that take discipline, but ones we can
all adopt to begin growing wealth. If these facts prove anything, it's that
every one of us can strive to become a millionaire - you can start by
driving your old car with pride."

in the past 5 years, effective tax rates on the wealthiest 0.1% has
gone from 30% to 16.6%

of course they OWN EVERYTHING...no surprise they pay SOME taxes

ever hear of the GINI coefficient? look it up. it measure the
difference between the richest and poorest in a society

the US is 9th out of 10 nations.

how about social mobility? the ability of non rich folks to get
rich....the US must lead there, right? because we're a nation where
anything is possible, right?

uh...no.

check page 4 of this report

http://www.brookings.edu/~/media/Fil...n/20060919.pdf

america has less social mobility than virtually any other country.

and the rich pay more taxes right?

well...no.

http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnal...obref=outbrain

The simple truth is that the wealthy in the United States — the people
who have made almost all the income gains in recent years — are
undertaxed compared with everyone else.

Consider two reports from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
One, issued last month, highlighted findings from the Congressional
Budget Office showing that "the gaps in after-tax income between the
richest 1 percent of Americans and the middle and poorest fifths of
the country more than tripled between 1979 and 2007," the period for
which figures are available.

The other, from February, used Internal Revenue Service data to show
that the effective federal income tax rate for the 400 taxpayers with
the very highest incomes declined by nearly half in just over a
decade, even as their pre-tax incomes have grown five times larger.

The study found that the top 400 households "paid 16.6% of their
income in federal individual income taxes in 2007, down from 30% in
1995." We are talking here about truly rich people: Using 2007
dollars, it took an adjusted gross income of at least $35 million to
get into the top 400 in 1992, and $139 million in 2007.

so america is NOT the land of opportunity. the rich pay less taxes as
a proportion of GDP than they did 10 years ago

the rich have had their incomes SKYROCKET while the middle class has
had NO increase.

the rich are not overtaxed. they're undertaxed. it's the middle class
that's overtaxed

so while the rich DESTROYED our economy, the middle class pays for it

you have to pay out $11776 before you see a dime.

Yup. I made a little money buying Garmin right after the IPO and hanging
onto it for a while. I've been 99% out of the stock market for a long
time now, thankfully. It's no secret here that I believe Wall Street
operators represent only themselves, and that the underpinnings of the
stock markets and many corporations are built on fraud and deception.
This is not a revelation, of course...our recent history provides all
the proof that is needed.

A few more stock market crashes or deep dives and maybe ordinary
Americans will wake up to the fact that they are always going to be
played by corporate financial interests.

So you did get raises for 8 years of the 30? You forgot to mention
that.

and then the GOP took it back to send to their rich friends. you
forgot to mention that

So now you are saying your pay was CUT.

ever hear of inflation?

What was the inflation rate in the 2000"s?
Are you saying they never gave you a dime?

you keep making the typical right wing mistake

i argue from EVIDENCE

you argue from FAIRY TALES

that's why you can't understand what i'm saying.

NO ONE...repeat NO ONE in the middle class got a raise

i'm not sure how many ways i can tell you that to get it through your
rush limballs polluted head.

I know my son in law has doubled his salary since then but he moved
and changed jobs.

Where is the money really going? I mean this seriously! As Obama

it's the racist assumption that obama has something to do with this

obama is, hopefully, doing the responsible things; re-regulating

expire (biggest factor in the deficit), etc.

the racist right just thinks the darkie pres is responsible.

How about mandatory voter education and the death penalty for

taken while campaigning.
And this would be for all politicians Bob!!! No free ride for any

Yet another rec.boats brain sturgeon, eh?

Must be something in the water......... wait a minute, most of the
dopers in here don't go near the water..... not even for a monthly bath.

Say what? That was incredibly dumb.

Speaking of the really stupid, I wonder how Little Man Freak's day
went at his non-existent webhosting ISP.

Terri probably puts him in a corner and lets him answer the phone on
occasion..... as long as he passes all questions directly to her.

Probably. You have nothing else to do but THIS?

If you are saying there is an international organization of rich
bankers who are running the world, I agree but when you look at the
membership of that group, you see most of the top tier politicians D
and R along with the big shots on the boards of our biggest companies.
(Bilderburgers, Trilateral commission, IMF, World Bank etc)

uh no. is john paulson in that group? nope. are most of the
billionaires on wall street in the group? nope.

this is a uniquely american phenomenon. the american right, which
hates the middle class and especially unions, structured american law
to enable them to transfer wealth from the middle class to the wealthy
without giving and increase in wages

not unlike the recent currency scam in n. korea where the elite
decreed everyon's life savings void.

the ameirican elite invented a group of worthless financial
instruments, then hate congress rewrite the laws to deregulate their
schemes.

the currency channels are international. the MANAGERS of this scheme
are not.

germany is heavily unionized so was less subject. canada had tighter
bank regulations

only in america, with its large and powerful right wing, did the free
market fundamentalists hijack the govt

Of course that puts us in the right wing, conspiracy kook column.

Your rants could have come out of the National Spotlight tho.

uh no. there is not an international jewish conspiracy. sorry.
