39% is not enough.

There is absolutely nothing prohibiting you from sending in 49% of your

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. But, you have the excuse that paying taxes

Obviously as long as the feds have the biggest guns and the most tax
payer funded lawyers, they will take any power they want. That does
not make it constitutional.

nor does it make it UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Only if they ignore the 10th amendment, but that is pretty much what
they did in the 50s and 60s.

IOW you have no answer other than to say you're right.

Lets just agree to disagree about creeping federalism. It is clear you
would want federal firemen, cops and garbage men.

state govts generally oppress human rights. only the feds have the
power to break local elites and get SOME measure of power for the
middle class...until the right wing and the rich hijack that as well

If you had your way
we would abolish all state and local government and nationalize all
the corporations.

really? got proof of that? oh. none.

Only from what you write, like the comment right above this one.

really? how's life in your parallel universe?

and if the private sector is so great why do we have BP and the most
expensive healthcare in the world, and a stock market that just pulled
11 trillion dollars out of the net worth of the US?

Why weren't the government inspectors checking the BP rig?

why should they? deregulation, remember? the bad oil companies go
bankrupt...

oh...wait...the rich stacked the deck to limit liability so the
taxpayer gets stuck with the bill...

Our health care is so expensive because we use too much of it. People
get a hangnail and they end up with an MRI. You can't go to the doctor
without coming home with a couple bottles of pills. Most of the money
we spend is in keeping corpses alive for a few extra days. Did you

and did the govt destroy 11 trillion in equity in the US in the last 3

nope. that was WALL STREET.

The Post Office should have put them out of business. They still can't
compete with private companies in spite of a huge taxpayer subsidy.

ah. private companies. yes. the ones who, on the backs of the mddle
class, raised productivity by 28% in the last 10 years....

and gave none of this to the middle class in the form of h igher
wages...then wonders why the middle class has no money

Yeah I heard of AIG. (although that is not what we were talking about)

sure it was. you were talking about how wonderful and efficient
private enterprise was. if that's the case why did bush bail out AIG?

You do understand a huge chunk of the AIG bailout went to liberal
sweetheart George Soros? Why don't we hear more about him?

except it was george bush who bailed out AIG.

this is proof you're a racist. you're blamin obama for something that
happened BEFORE HE WAS PRESIDENT

The financial sector will have to add a whole lot more to the GDP if
the boomers actually want to retire.
Where do you think pension money comes from?
Retirement is money making money.

Amen brother.

I actually believe the "greatest generation" will be the last ones to
actually complete retirement and not outlive their money simply
because the boomers covered them with our 401k and FICA money.
There are not enough kids behind us to support 75-80 million boomers
on a pension.

Amen brother.

then where is the money

You seem to assume all private enterprise is the same evil.

the 80/20 rule. 20% of businesses did 80% of the damage to the economy

You do understand a huge chunk of the AIG bailout went to liberal
sweetheart George Soros? Why don't we hear more about him?

except it was george bush who bailed out AIG.

And it was Soros and guys like him who caused the problem in the first
place

well no. AIG was about 80B. the total bailout was over 700B.

whatsamatter? cant count?

this is proof you're a racist. you're blamin obama for something that

I never mentioned Obama in this derivatives thing, that is all you.

uh no. you ignore the fact the bailout was bush's idea. if it's a bad
idea, it was BUSH, not OBAMA that caused it

There is no money, that is the point.
The trillions that disappeared from the economy never existed in the
first place. It was just betting slips from those hedge fund bookies
like Soros.

soros was peanuts compared to the 11 TRILLION sucked out of the
economy by wall street hedgefund managers

I would make that more like 0.01% of the businesses caused 99.99% of
the damage.

and the GOP is now telling us how hard we are being on business to put
these regulations on them.

poor babies

There are 31 million businesses in the US (2007) a third are
corporations. (the rest are SPs, partnerships and LLCs) I doubt this
melt down was even slightly the fault of 1000 of the corporations. It
is really more like 100 truly bad actors.

and 100 bad actors controlled a HUGE sector of the GDP.

and they were out of control...they became a piggybank for the ultra
rich to plunder the middle class

The 60 minutes story and the end of life problem in general, is a
Medicare problem.

It's a moral problem. Forcing the feeble and soon to be dead to stay
temporarily, painfully alive is torture - euthanasia is applied to criminals
and pets - torturing old people to run up the bill is the ultimate crime.

The middle class is gone (80%) for all time. Keep worshiping political
parasites and sending your money overseas.

How long will it take the former U.S. to adopt the economic policies and
philosophy of Japan, India, Korea and red China?

That's his/her point - mystery paper is worthless when the bogus house of
cards collapses. Production creates actual wealth; hyperinflation of real
estate and paper wagers do not. It had to collapse, it did, and it cannot be
regenerated.

It really gets me when retards like pubichair there spew the same lies,
over and over again, and consider it "intelligent debate". What I don't
understand is how with subjects so important to our future, folks like
he and Harry and the kind of people who run acorn, elected Franken,
etc.. can so intentionally lie and cheat and have no conscience or

Sure there is. We simply have to re-order our priorities. For starters,
we can cut the military budget in half as soon as employment picks up.
That would represent a savings of what, at least $400 billion dollars?

As asinine as that comment is, it makes sense in a strange way considering
the bedwetters you elect won't use them anyway for anything but delivering
food baskets to the enemy.
