Clinton Era was even worse. They had a huge bubble of money from the Dot.com bubble and committed that money in to future spending as if the money was going to flow forever. California increased spending 37% in f4 years under Governor Davis. We recalled him for excess fiscal irresponsibility. So we put in the Governator. Arnie. He increased spending 39% in his first 4 years. Basically in 8 years we doubled the budget. Same thing happened on the Federal level. Bush overspent, Clinton Overspent. Just that Clinton had a big bubble of income to hide his overspending. Look at the budget for his 8 years. How much did it go up? Obama is spending money we do not have at an astronomical rate. May need to fix my Orion Short Tube telescope to see the money in a short time. How may people have spent themselves out of debt? |

Get America to the point where SS and Medicare can't be funded and as much wealth as possible has been transferred to the rich. Don't really know if he thought that out, but that's what I saw as the result coming. What other purpose could the Republican party have in mind? The redistribution of wealth has worked well. SS and Medicare will be too tough. We'll see what happens when that Presidential commission on balancing the budget comes in with its findings. If they say cut SS and Medicare for middle class and lower income groups the first thing that will be said to that commission is, "Non-millionaires who voted to cut SS and Medicare please step forward." Won't be any movement. That commission is loaded with millionaires, including some of the Dems. Rep Paul Ryan (R), that clean-cut boy still wanting to privatize SS because he has the American people's interest in heart? Multi-millionaire. The SS and Medicare cuts won't fly unless the American public are even bigger suckers than I think. More likely they'll reduce payments to medical providers and get them whining. The "medical industry" can't survive without the gov, as that's a huge part of their income. If the docs whine too hard about not pulling down $500k average we just import some Indians and Chinamen to do that work. The old farts on medicare don't care who's keeping them alive, so long as they ain't paying for it. It always gets down to "class warfare." Just how it works when money is the most important thing in the world. Probably always has been and always will be. Hell, I don't want nobody cutting my SS and Medicare, so I ain't no different. Get right down to it, you ain't paying enough taxes for that income of yours. You're a rich guy to me. Hey Bob, catch the Chelsea Clinton wedding? One investment banker marrying another. The CDO people. The good ole boy "man of people" Bill Clinton sure knows how to raise a kid right. Of course he was the continuation of Ronnie Raygun. Wouldn't expect his kid to be a social worker. I guess we don't have to watch Dylan Ratigan. He says something at 4PM and it is posted here by dinner time. I watched part of his show once. He's an asshole. Bob will get you for that ;-) I only watched Ratigan a few times but it is clear he is Bob's favorite source. I heard the same things I see posted here. This is someone on MSNBC? I've never seen his show. |

I've never seen his show. He's a financial/political reporter who knows the financial markets up and down, originally reporting for Bloomberg. He doesn't play left/right favorites, and unlike other reporters doesn't kiss political ass or ask the usual shallow questions. You can easily find vid clips of him laying out the facts to politicians of all stripes. He doesn't like any of them who game away from the facts. I would guess you'd like him, depending on how far you fell off a political edge. He seems to me an old-time capitalist with a social conscience. Basically, CEO's making 50 times average employees salary is fine if they are adding to the economy. CEO's making 500 times average employee salary while destroying the economy isn't fine. But you already got the best recommendation for Ratigan right here. Both gfretwell and Krause don't like him. Krause doesn't like anybody. gfretwell loves Wall Street. Ratigan suffers no such weaknesses. As far as Bob reflecting Ratigan, that's a poor reading from gfretwell. "Destruction of the middle class" talk is all over the place. The left blames Wall Street, the right blames Obama. Bob sounds much more like an Ed Shultz fan. Jim - Green eye shades. |
