My guess is just seeing how fast Obama knee jerks, bet he had it with the presidents mixed messages and confusion. Obama is just the kind of guy to backstab. Give you an order, get the #%*% and I don't care what it takes. Then when you do he tries to burn you for following orders. Obama is going to go for a judge next. Could be interesting as I figure Obama's ego and demenor is like Chavez, and will be interesting to see if the checks and balances of the US judicial system still have meaning. Because even BP deserves a trial. Just because the president brings rope does not mean there should be a hanging without due process. We also saw how GM bond holders were in a precident setting way, screwed out of their court hearing in GMs default. Obama clearly shows he thinks law is a hinderance to his ego. -- The bigger government gets, the more it tends to rule out common sense. |

Bush fired or "retired" many generals for speaking out. I think Obama should not fire him unless he believes that McCrystall can no longer do the job he was assigned to do. Obama's ego will cause McCrystal to be fired. He is a thin skinned little man, isn't he? Actually, you short ****, several presidents have fired there generals for less. Truman/McArthur, Lincoln fired several before finding Grant, Johnson fired Lemay, McKinley fired Lemay, etc. Bush fired Shinseki for telling the truth at a congressional hearing where he was under oath. Does that count? We will see, hasn't Obama done two generals? All the same I think Obama be plotting a judge next. Clearly the man things like Chavez that he has no limits. I just hope we don't have to hear the "old soldier" speech. I imagine he will be doing the Sunday shows the weekend after he is separated. Then we will hear what he really thinks. I think we already know what he "really thinks." The point is that it was insubordination, and that can't be tolerated in the command staff. My bet is we ain't heard nothin' yet. This guy will write a book and do the talk show circuit, probably ending up with a show on Fox or CNN. I expect to see him Sunday if he gets mustered out by then. Spot on. I was more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and charge off his insubordination to strange circumstances, but the more I hear about this guy, the more the bozo he seems. He apparently was involved in the Tillman coverup and in torture cases, too. He had to explain himself to Congress about the latter previously I believe. The more I hear about him the less impressed I am. Good riddance. Hey, more decent from the judges I hear. Obama going to fire them too? Is that Whitehouse, Venezuela I hear? -- The bigger government gets, the more it tends to rule out common sense. Are you an idiot? Answer: yes. |

Well, yet again it's all about what might or might not happen. The fact is that he was insubordinate and that was way off base. He knew this, but he was so arrogant that it didn't matter. His reputation will be tarnished for his dismissal (and for other things like the Tilman debacle). This guy still has a lot of credibility. You don't get to where he was without it. Yes, and he lost a lot also. It is clear he was very frustrated with the people in the White House. So what. He should have followed the prescribed protocol and not complained to a reporter. That's called insubordination. I have already been criticized about my guess that he will say Obama wants to get out before the job was done. (disagreeing with the timetable was what I said) Fortunately that guess will be tested on Sunday I imagine so we will know pretty quickly Sorry, no idea what you're talking about.... something is happening on Sunday re the general? |

Obama's ego will cause McCrystal to be fired. Your ego needs to be self-inflated to compensate for your obvious lack of intelligence. Was he fired or not, Dippy? He was fires for insubordination, as opposed to what Bush did... fire people for stating facts, Dufus. He resigned, probably was put to him, resign with full pension or I will fire you for my ego and cause you pension grief. He chose wisely and resigned. -- The bigger government gets, the more it tends to rule out common sense. He didn't have a choice. He was told to resign. He follows orders. You're an idiot. Guess Obama is now also going to have to fire a judge saying even the Obama must follow due process.
