Harry, you had a pretty good job working for a prestigious company. You
got
to see your name in print once in a while. And the pay was great, I'm
sure.
Why did you get fired and why haven't you been able to secure employment
since then? Doesn't that make you the dumbest blowhard in rec.boats?

I've been self-employed continuously since 1990. I have five accounts on
long-term contracts right now, and have had four to six such contracts for
the past 10 years.

Snotty Scotty couldn't as an adult handle the sorts of summer jobs I had
as a post-high school/college student.

You didn't answer the question. Why couldn't you find a job after Uulico
fired you?

Read my response again. Slowly.

You declared that you were the boss of yourself. I got that part.

Are you saying that you gave up and didn't even try to find a job?

I haven't been on anyone else's payroll for decades.

I see. Dad kicked the bucket and left you sitting pretty. Makes sense.

Some years ago, I gave up wondering if you righties were as stupid and
incapable of logical reasoning as you appeared to be, because every time
I thought there was hope for a glimmer of brightness, you boys proved
there wasn't. Your posts show the wisdom of that surrender.

Again, what happened to the "Day one" withdrawal Obama ran on?

Day one? You were expecting he was going to end the wars on the first
day?
When did he say that? I must have missed it.

It is on You Tube. I bet it was linked here before. Something like Feb
2008.

Come on. He never said he was going to end either war on the first day as
President. That's completely loony.

He said he would start the withdrawal from Iraq on Jan 20.
It is 16 months later and the total commitment in the two wars is
higher than it was in 1q09.

Which he did. The number in Iraq is much lower. He never said he would end
the Afg. war in 18 months. In fact, he said he would escalate and fix the
situation.

How many soldiers have come home?

over 50,000 from iraq. i know you right wingers would prefer they be
used to conquer ANOTHER country and spend ANOTHER trillion, but that
aint gonna happen

They didn't come home, they went to Afghanistan. That is another
country Obama does seem content to try to conquer.
How did that work out for the Soviets

we're not the soviets. and i realize you're a craven coward but brave
US and canadian soliders are dying to defend the west in afghanistan

you hate the west, its civilzation and culture. kluxers are generally
like that

Yeah, the Soviets were smart enough to go home.

Why do you hate our kids? You like them dying in foreign wars where we
have no national interest.

We certainly have a national interest in both places NOW. Prior to 9/11,
we
had limited national interest in Iraq.

I don't see any compelling national interest in either.

In Iraq., we have a containment issue with Iran. We have a possibility of a
failed state thanks to GWB's failures.

In Afg., same issues when bin laden was there. He's just across the border
and the Taliban, which supported him is active.

Bin Laden is in Pakistan and Iraq never made any sense.

I agree (now he's in Pakistan, he wasn't always) that Iraq never made sense.

Iraq was about Israel not the US.

Partially true, but not for GWB.

Afghanistan is pure lunacy ... Some misguided revenge thing I don't
understand.

It was about going after bin laden and stopping a repeat performance. That's
what has got to be ensured going forward.

The covert mission to get Osama made some sense in 4q01, 1q02 but as
soon as he got to a place where we lost the support of the locals, it
was over.

He hasn't completely, and we need to get out asap. But, again, we can't just
leave and expect him to stay away.

We are creating more terrorists than we are killing.

Perhaps... counter insurgency is a tough business. Perhaps if we stopped
torturing prisoners and finally close Gitmo, that would be a good start.

Are we going to go into Somalia next?

We're already there!

No one hates our kids. That's just
extremist nonsense.

That was just for Bob who thinks we all hate someone.

OIC. Sorry.

Which one is Bob again?

George Bush was a moron getting us in those wars., I have said that

I just want Obama to honor his campaign pledge and get us out.
Afghanistan is more dangerous and less productive than Iraq.

I think he is getting us out the best way possible. Not sure what you
mean
by less productive though.

It is possible that the Iraqis could actually go back to being a
consumer society that might buy some of our products.
Afghanistan was a ******** 1000 years ago and it will be a ********
1000 years from now. The only real trade we have with them is we send
them weapons and money. They send us heroin and hash.

Well, now Afg. has potentially a $1T+ worth of natural resources....

Do you propose we try to steal them? ;-)
We would do a lot better sending mining engineers in there than combat
engineers.

Actually, I think it's a bunch of bs that they have those resources. I think
it's just a lame attempt to get us thinking we should stay.
