Not sure who you think is ignoring the "illegal" part. There are laws on the
books to deal with illegal immigration. They need to be enforced. In order
to enforce them, money needs to be allocated to the INS, etc., to go after
companies that knowingly hire the illegals. It's pretty easy to check on
someone's status. If a company is not doing that check, they should be fined
appropriately, or if egregious, people should go to jail.

Oregon doesn't have an answer for why the firefighters shouldn't speak
English.

As if a crew of 20 were out there, 19 were english and the 20th was
other, leader or not there is big risk in no peer communications.

And the official langage of the US is english. So makes me wonder why
INS is letting in people who can't speak english. Seen this before in
Canada, usually it is for cheap wetback labor and prostitution when

Not sure who you think is ignoring the "illegal" part. There are laws on
the books to deal with illegal immigration. They need to be enforced. In
order to enforce them, money needs to be allocated to the INS, etc., to
go after companies that knowingly hire the illegals. It's pretty easy to
check on someone's status. If a company is not doing that check, they
should be fined appropriately, or if egregious, people should go to jail.


How about if we brand them on the forhead with an I and march them back
across the border.

Hope this doesn't happen in the Coast Guard...
