I did not mention Obama in my post. However, it seems to me that if
you do not do all these things and more AND you rant about BP, then
you are a hypocrite.

As I have spent considerable time on drilling rigs during all phases
of drilling and testing through to cementing, I know all too well how
such incidents occurr. It is easy to ignore a small gas kick thinking
it is just a small amount of gas int he mud breaking out as the mud is
circulated. In fact, it is reasonable to conclude that if one is
circulating the mud below the BOP, then replacing the mud in the riser
with water AND getting a gas kick in the mud would not seem to have
anything to do with the water vs mud in the riser but was only due to
the circulating mud. Yes, a serious mistake but one that can easily
be made.
