Which hurts the American worker by taking jobs away from him and dilutes the ability of organized labor to protect the American worker. You need to get on the right side of this argument and you aren't. The right side of this issue is for the federal government to make mass arrests of corporate executives who hire illegals, prosecute them, and send them to prison. It would also help if any and all tax credits are removed from corporations that export jobs to slave wage countries. Let me know when that happens, eh? You are talking out your ass Harriet. Send the illegals back home where they belong. The only hope for the "sell out and chief" is to turn the 30 million illegals into voters. Would help Obama get elected.... But do you want 30 million people in the USA that have demonstaighted the willingness to break the law? -- There is a sucker born every minute, liberals and our politicians are counting on it. |

I don't disagree with anything you wrote, but I will point out that the greatest group of violators is not corporations, it is small businesses. Restaurants Construction Agriculture Lodging Maintenance and the list goes on. I don't know if you are aware of this, but you cannot hire a person on the spot and put them to work. All workers have a 72 hour waiting period between submission of paperwork and their first day on the job. Bush's DHS is supposed to look at each and every application. Then, how many us-against-them small business subvert the system? It is really that same bunch of idiots that wave the flag and then shop at Wal-Mart, lining the pockets of the Chi-Coms. And they call themselves patriots. There's no waiting period for illegals who are willing to work for those hundreds of thousands of shady employers who hire them as contract workers or off the clock. Up until the full force of the Bush Megarecession hit, many of the international construction unions and their locals recruited Latinos at non-union construction sites, and were putting them through skills-improving and also English classes so they could work union. The best "organizers," though, were the madrecitas, the wives of the workers and the mothers of their children. Much of Latino home life is matriarchal in nature, and when mama finds out that when her husband works union, the family gets health insurance, a pension program, and a much, much safer workplace, she pressures him to join the union. -- The Tea Party's teabaggers are just the Republican base by another name. |

Don't joke about unemployment, it went up last month and if the recent markets are right (and they usually are) the economy is now back into a nose dive. Bet unadjusted unemployment goes past 25% sometime this year. Might even go past 30%. In short, the few that work at value added non-government jobs in this country cannot support the government any more. Governments isn't getting the message. -- There is a sucker born every minute, liberals and our politicians are counting on it. |
