Default Race for the Cure Wrap Up

In my daughter's words:

Hey, there! WOW...What a race!!! It was a perfect day! And back on Brown's
Island this year...what an improvement over last year! Many have asked how "Run
for the Hills" ended up doing this year, sooo....Our team was the fourth largest
team in the city!!! And we didn't even try hard....wait until next year!!!
We've raised $6,893 dollars to date, which makes us the third largest
fundraising team in the Friends/Family division. Certainly something to be
proud of!!! Tracy and I have so much for which to thank you, so let's get
started!
A most sincere 'thank you' for:
1. Joining our team!!!
2. Donating to Susan G. Komen on our behalf, or raising money on behalf of our
team.
3. Recruiting new team members! The more the merrier! Hope all you new team
members come back next year, and bring your friends!
4. Buying and wearing the team t-shirts! We recognize that these are an added
expense, and we are appreciative that you are willing to buy and wear them!
What a sharp lookin' group we were!
5. Travelling all the way to Richmond for this race!
6. Getting up at the crack of dawn to come downtown to have your picture taken!
7. Helping to put all those race packets together at the VERY last minute, that
were supposed to be put together already (you know who you are!)!!!
8. Supporting the cause, raising awareness that EARLY DETECTION CAN SAVE LIVES,
and getting your mammograms, or encouraging a woman you love to get hers.

Your support was greatly appreciated! Thanks again. Hopefully we'll do even
better next year.

You don't realize know how important the early detection is until it
hits a younger member of your family.

Amen. My daughter's was discovered at age 37. Purely by luck. She worked in a
hospital, and they announced an open mammogram. So she took it.

Whew!

My sister got her mamogram on a whim at 40 and found out.
