Default old boat engines

Powered a lot of the local fleets. The Monterey was probably the prime
Sardine fishery boat during Steinbecks time.

And the thing about those primitive old one-lungers, is that even at
350 rpm and only 8 hp. the torque and reliability was quite high.
That's one reason why the old 208 fairbanks-Morse is still a popular
pump jack engine in the oil patch around ehre. They'd run on just
about anything combustable and gave dependable service. They only
developed about 12 hp on 200 cubic ench, but they could run with good
maintenance for years, where smaller, modern engines with higher horse
power would explode in days.
