Mine is more than a couple and less than many. Three to seven is a few. Maybe I should have used some? But, how many is some? Why is the name so important to you? It is a universal identifier of a specific entity and when written or spoken everyone knows who you are talking about. If you met a man and his last name was "Bergman" what would you think is his religious or ethnic heritage? |

If you met a man and his last name was "Bergman" what would you think is his religious or ethnic heritage? A. A "few" can mean many things, but typically it means not so many. A few centuries might be three or four. The split between the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches took place about 10 centuries ago, and that is more than a "few" centuries. B. I find it mildly humorous that the real name of the saviour in which so many believe has become so unJewish. C. Bergman? Religion, I wouldn't have a clue. Background? Probably Swedish. Ingmar? My wit no, me in person yes. You know all about me, you've driven by my house. You have dug into my background. You are afraid of me because I don't cower when you open your mouth and your verbal acid spews forth.. You are afraid of me because I have taken a different path in life that doesn't fit your mold of what a successful person should be. Sorry, Bertie, but I've never ever driven by your house, nor am I afraid of you. But, to get back to the topic at hand, you ought to make it to the Greek festival. The folks there are different from you, but you'll still have a good time, if you let yourself, and perhaps one of your kids will find a Greek girlfriend or boyfriend. The Greek Orthodox Church is not much different from my own church. Just a schism a few centuries ago about a guy named Jesus and his divinity. A couple of words and the East and West split. The schism was more than a few centuries ago, as you surely must know. And his name was not Jesus. No Jewish mother 2000 years ago would name her son Jesus. -- The Tea Party's teabaggers are just the Republican base by another name.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - No, but the greek scholars of the books of the New Testament would. |
