Many righties suffer from a rigid personality disorder in themselves, in
what they believe, and in how they think the world should be.

The soviets adapted "communism" as marx defined it, and then kept
adapting it so that it fit what the thugs who ran the soviet empire
wanted. Every country makes adaptations, no matter what form of
government it states is has or had or wants. We do it here.
