![]() I've seen some news reports about the Tea Party rally in Nevada, where they want to get rid of Harry Reid. The news people say hardly any there were locals, and they're following Sarah Palin around. You always see a lot of RV's and motor homes in the background. Is Sarah Palin the new Jerry Garcia? I don't know much about the deadhead crowd. Seemed they were druggies. Never cared for that kind of music, being a country fan. The Tea Party folks look pretty clean cut, but out of shape. Most are overweight or obese. Look like typical retired folks, or desk jockeys. I'm guessing they use a lot of prescription drugs, mostly paid for by Medicare. Stuff for high blood pressure, diabetes, penis stiffening, etc. But they sure don't seem like deadheads. I don't count when they're talking. Just appearances. Anybody here a Tea Party member? Anybody a former deadhead? I'd like to hear some comparisons. I'm interested in cultural phenomena, is why I ask. |

The busing in thing seems to be so organized by both sides there must be an instant rally, for rent outfit. |

I never was into the Greatful Dead I liked the Dead twice as much as Looking Glass. The Dead had 2 songs I liked. *;-)- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Well, Looking Glass was a far bit better than "Double" with their one hit loser "The Captain of her heart" The only song I actually liked by the greatful dead was "Friend of the devil" |

Looking Glass was a 1970's one-hit-wonder ("Brandy") band out of New Jersey. Double was a 1980's one-hit-wonder ("The Captain of Her Heart") band from Switzerland. RG |

I remember them playing for free out in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, years before they were real famous. I worked not that far from the Haight-Ashbury area and went to school out near GG park. |

Scotty, BAR, Canuck, (the real) Jim, Dan (Larry, Rob, Margaret) Krueger, Herring when he's ambulatory, Jack Mehoff, and a host of others. Actually a combination of birthers, deathers and teabaggers. Anybody a former deadhead? I'd like to hear some comparisons. I'm interested in cultural phenomena, is why I ask. Deadheads could dance like hippies. Teabaggers look like they have a horrific case of hemorrhoids. |
