Governors Receive Threats From Extremist Group

WASHINGTON ? Governors across the country said Friday that they had
received letters from an extremist group warning that that they
might be
forcibly removed from office if they did not step down within three
days.

Officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the
Department of
Homeland Security confirmed that they had sent out an intelligence
note
with information about potential threats made to governors by a
group
calling itself Guardians of the Free Republics.

The note was sent to state law enforcement officials in the last few
days.

A homeland security official said the federal agencies were not
aware of
?an immediate or credible threat.?

?No specific information indicates that violence is intended,? the
official said. ?These threat assessments are issued regularly out of
an
abundance of caution.?

State officials said they were taking the threat seriously because
it
came
at a time of increased attention to antigovernment groups.

Nine members of a militant Christian militia group were arrested in
Michigan last weekend and accused of plotting an uprising against
the
government.

On its Web site, the Guardians of the Free Republics sets forth a
plan
to
?restore America.? It describes the plan as ?a bold achievable
strategy
for behind-the-scenes peaceful reconstruction of the de jure
institutions
of government without controversy, violence or civil war.?

Maybe the Homeland Security people should start rounding up all these
whackos and ship them to Gitmo.

The President closed Gitmo...or maybe he didn't.

Or maybe he's trying. It's a complicated situation. Bush pushed it for
years
and then said it should be closed. It'll take longer than Obama
originally
thought, but there's every indication it'll get done.

Or maybe he realized it is in the best interest of our country to keep
it open.

Yeah, I'm sure "that" was what he was thinking of.. (sarcasm)...

Because you know your own heart and you certainly don't have the best
interests of the country in mind. It's pretty obvious, since you don't add
anything to the political dialog, except for hate maybe.

This is a boating group, remember? If you want to play referee, there
are dozens of political groups for you.

Don't you think he would understand the implications before he made this

Obviously not. Yet, he's still intent upon closing down the operation. I
call it persistence in the face of hard problems.

Depends... you need them, can't afford them, apparently.

Hey, when Obama shot off his big mouth about Gitmo, I knew right
there
this was an opportunistic jive turkey politician. Because Gitmo has a
reason, and now in office Obama sees the reason. So Obama-mama
changed

But if he really was a world class good leader he would have

the ned for Gitmo. As people like you, and I, don't really care to
have
Gitmo types resident 20 miles up the road. Some terrorist group will
likely take a school of children hostage to get the idiots out.

ROFLMAO!! the only reason the right likes gitmo is it enables them to
circumvent the rule of law.

and obama in his first year

-ended the worst recession since the 30's
-passed universal healthcare
-won a nobel prize
-drew down US forces in iraq
-focused efforts in afghanistan

looks worldclass to me. but i guess rush doesnt tell you guys ALL the

as opposed to the rich white frat boy bush who did

nothing.

More bad reporting. Where is the Universal health care and when will it
start? I have to know so I can short some health insurance stocks!

Good question. I am totally in favor of Univ. healthcare. The Dems wimped
out. It should have been their initial position.

Who told you the recession is over? There are many stocks tied to that
that I can buy with my new cash!

Probably just about every economist of any stature.

Governors Receive Threats From Extremist Group

WASHINGTON — Governors across the country said Friday that they
had
received letters from an extremist group warning that that they
might
be
forcibly removed from office if they did not step down within
three
days.

Officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the
Department
of
Homeland Security confirmed that they had sent out an
intelligence
note
with information about potential threats made to governors by a
group
calling itself Guardians of the Free Republics.

The note was sent to state law enforcement officials in the last
few
days.

A homeland security official said the federal agencies were not
aware
of
“an immediate or credible threat.”

“No specific information indicates that violence is intended,”
the
official said. “These threat assessments are issued regularly
out
of an
abundance of caution.”

State officials said they were taking the threat seriously
because
it
came
at a time of increased attention to antigovernment groups.

Nine members of a militant Christian militia group were arrested
in
Michigan last weekend and accused of plotting an uprising
against
the
government.

On its Web site, the Guardians of the Free Republics sets forth
a
plan to
“restore America.” It describes the plan as “a bold achievable
strategy
for behind-the-scenes peaceful reconstruction of the de jure
institutions
of government without controversy, violence or civil war.”

Maybe the Homeland Security people should start rounding up all
these
whackos and ship them to Gitmo.

The President closed Gitmo...or maybe he didn't.

Depends, do you listen to Obama or watch what he does?

Liberal-statism is an addiction to other peoples money.

Depends... you need them, can't afford them, apparently.

Hey, when Obama shot off his big mouth about Gitmo, I knew right
there
this was an opportunistic jive turkey politician. Because Gitmo has a
reason, and now in office Obama sees the reason. So Obama-mama
changed
his toon.

But if he really was a world class good leader he would have
recognized
the ned for Gitmo. As people like you, and I, don't really care to
have
Gitmo types resident 20 miles up the road. Some terrorist group will
likely take a school of children hostage to get the idiots out.

But then while Obama does have the gift of gab and a big mouth, I
don't
think he thinks much.

You should be at a teabagger rally, holding up a sign with a few
misspelled words.

Do you think it's possible for him to do that without drooling down his
shirt?

No...I doubt he takes any better care of his teeth than his health in
general. I suspect he drools...a lot.

I heard that he ordered a waterproof pillow to keep from drowning in his
own
spittle.

Where did you hear that? You are a lousy troll. Are you also my lousy
spoofer?

Who would want to spoof you?
They might catch something that doesn't have a medical cure...yet!- Hide quoted text -

Man, you've made some stupid, idiotic remarks here that's made you
look like a fool, but this is just about the dumbest thing ever.

When SnottyScotty isn't here posting, *you* have temporary possession of
the Flyweight Belt designating you as Rec. Boat's Dumbest Poster.

Awe, sticking up for your lover, isn't that cute. Did you find
ANYTHING intelligent in Don's remark? If so, what?

Your opinion of Don has nothing to do with my opinion of you.
You are the second-dumbest poster here, a short-fused bully, and a liar.
