Just thought I'd pass along a good experience. i checked the price of exhaust hose....my marina has it for $22/ft. these guys have it for 12/ft thanks much! That sounds like a respectable difference. I wonder if it's the same stuff, and if it is, I think the Marina is marking it up double. But then again, they have to eat too. BUT..... |

Jamestown Distributors is a good outfit but don't always have the best prices. *If I'm shopping price I'll always take a look at Defender Industries. * Their mail order operation has gotten to be quite efficient. http://www.defender.com/ Thanks, Wayne. I wanted Polyform, and Jamestown popped up early in my search and had them at a reasonable price compared to the local dealer. I'll keep Defender in mind next time... they had them a bit cheaper. I do have to say that the Jamestown service was great! One thing I notice when poking around on the web sites... the really BIG fenders go for really big money! A fender for nearly a grand? Wow. I guess it's a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of the boat you'd use it on. |

Chances are the marina is buying the hose from some outfit just like Jamestown Distributors, and are not getting that much of a trade discount. If they don't mark it up, they're losing money. |

Even one scratch would cost thousands to repair so the fenders are like cheap insurance. I've debated getting a couple at the house for hurricane protection but haven't done it yet. |
