That first rifle (With the wood stock) that he picked up is a 6.5x55
Swedish Mauser *"Ljungman" *(pronounced= *Lunge-mun) Model 98

* I have one. Very finely and well built rifle that is sighted for 700
meters . Quality all the way!

BTW, I totally agree with the stickers on the inside of his gun safe.

That's a nice rifle! *I enjoyed the stickers, too, but it made me wonder
why he would have them if their firearm laws are so liberal.

I don't know. and they're English language redneck type ones too!

I'd still like to have em, though.

Tim, I have been reading all about this rifle. *I have come to the
conclusion that it is a baaaad rifle. *Saying that, I would recommend
you get rid of it as soon as possible. *Living in the PRK where you
could get $100 for turning it in to the local police department, I'm
willing to give you $125 for it and I'll even pay for the shipping. *I
will then turn it in for you.
Let me know if this arrangement is satisfactory for you.
Eddie, in San Jose

Rd, i appreciate the offer, and I'll keep that in mind.

Poor you! Did "they" take away your gun? Or, did they deny you one due to
some problem in your background, e.g., mental problems or criminal
behavior?

I have a CCW and your liberal spin was quite lame.

What's a CCW? You're the one who posted it. Were you trying to make a point
or do you like Swiss cheeze?

Real purty guns - for target practice only.
Swiss will never fight anyone.
Bankers who will hold anybody's money secret got no need to fight.
Hoard the money, and always declare neutrality.
Works real good.

Lib - Swiss are libs - won't fight, can't fight. All mouth and accounting.

Beautiful rifle Tim!
I like the concept that any potential robbers absolutely KNOW that the home
owner is armed and knows how to shoot. Great deterant.
Would work well here except for druggies. But they are at the mercy of thier
own stupidity.

What's a CCW?

Concealed carry license. I know that is a rare thing in California but
in about 40 states they are "shall issue". That means without any
other exclusionary factor (criminal record, mental health history,
history of domestic violence etc) the state shall issue the permit.
Actually the requirements are pretty much what gun control advocates
have wanted for years.
The applicant undergoes a very extensive state and federal background
check that may even include an interview by the police, they get
fingerprinted, photographed and must carry the photo ID. There is an
education requirement that assures they are competent with the firearm
and also understand the legal ramifications of using the gun. In some
states the gun they want to carry has to be registered.
This is really only second to getting the BATF form 4 and stamp that
lets you own a machine gun.

In my experience the novelty soon wears off and most of the CCW
license holders I know seldom actually carry their gun. Lugging around
a couple pounds of expensive metal is really a pain in the ass. There
are still places you can't take it so storing it safely outside those
places is a problem. It puts a lot of wear and tear on your gun too.
When this is easily a $500-800 item, that is a rapidly depreciating
asset

I don't think I could carry my shotgun concealed without a trenchcoat maybe.
:)

Thanks... never heard that acronym before.
