My wife woke me at 4:45 because our dog, Tess, was having a seizure
of some kind. The vet later said it was probably a stroke. In any
case, Tess could not stand, unless she could lean against the wall.
After another hour or so she could not stand at all. So we sat on the
floor with her for a few hours until we got a call back from the vet.

Took her in. The vet checked her over, saying there was nothing more
could be done.

So, at about 8:15 this morning, we put this girl to sleep. She was
within three months of being 15 years old. We'll miss her.

Sorry to hear about your loss. From your posts in here, it sounds like
she was a great family member.

Sorry to hear John, but I had to notice that even in your time of
loss, you still feel the need to insert political bull**** in your
posts.

true tragedy and my deepest sympathies. we damn near lost our 2 1/2
year old standard poodle to bloat last year....we were really beside
ourselves til the vet said she'd be OK after major surgery...

truly...my sympathies.

When I met my wife she had a Bichon named.. get this... Snoopy. He
was a one owner dog, loved her and just tolerated me. He was about 16
(not sure, she got him through a pet adoption) when he had a stroke
that left him blind, and he was already nearly deaf.

She babied him for a while, but he went downhill fast, and we finally
had to put him to sleep. It's tough on us humans, but he wasn't happy
living anymore, so that's the trigger point in my mind.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Time heals all wounds.
