We' ve a new establishment here called 'National Harbor'. Place has a nice dock, so we stopped for a planned cup of coffee. A young guy comes running out of a shack and asks what we want. I tell him we want to walk up and get some coffee. He says, "That'll be $10 an hour." We left. Now I know why there's hardly ever anyone tied up at the docks. http://tinyurl.com/yeo3lof You can tie up for free if you're having dinner at the restaurant next door (Parrot Key Caribbean Grill). We have quite a few places like that. http://www.fortmyers-sanibel.com/do/...detail=marinas The town of Key West is a different matter however since it is a big tourist town and dockspace is at a premium. $10/day to park a dinghy is par for the course down there, and more like $250/day for our big boat. Well, I guess I won't be boating to Key West for the free parking. Not if I have to pay. |
