Maybe it's all those Key West boats at the Freedom Boat Club that get
my heart racing.

That CC in the foreground looks like mine, except for the engine and
the lack of a bow rail.

And, of course, the facts that the boat is in the water and probably
will be used...by someone. Unlike your boat.

That picture was taken at Salty Sam's Marina in Ft Myers Beach which
is sort of in the boating backyard of "gfretwell" and myself.
Unfortunately it's not a very good day for boating right now:

I was out for a quick spin in the runabout yesterday but it was a
chilly 55 degrees on the water. Today is worse, much worse.

The boats run faster in the cold water! IIRC it's due to the compression.

Could be but I can't say, just took the GPS off the runabout to use as
a spare on the big boat when we go south. I did give it a quick
blast at 5,000 RPM WOT however which is usually good for about 50 mph.
It felt pretty fast heading into a cool 12 kt head wind.

It's beginning to warm up in Alexandria, according to the TV folks.
But, my thermometer shows 18.5 F out there. Not golfing weather, nor
boating.

You reckon those folks would let me tie up my Key West at no charge?
We' ve a new establishment here called 'National Harbor'. Place has a
nice dock, so we stopped for a planned cup of coffee. A young guy
comes running out of a shack and asks what we want. I tell him we want
to walk up and get some coffee. He says, "That'll be $10 an hour."

We left. Now I know why there's hardly ever anyone tied up at the
docks.

Are you objecting to the rate or the fact that a fee is charged, because
on the other side of the river, in Alexandria, there's an $11 dockage
fee for short-term transients that covers a several hour stay. Lots of
places have dockage fees for transients. If you used your boat more,
you'd know this.

My guess is that you are objecting to the fee. You right-wingers are all
alike.
