arrested Michael Yon for refusing to disclose his income when he
returned to the United States. From his Facebook wall three hours ago: "Michael Yon: Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not "arrested", but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eventually came -- they were professionals -- and rescued me from the border bullies." Harassment? I think it is - Yon has been a beacon of truth about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since May of 2003. One of the most respected and prolific of embed correspondents since Ernie Pyle. And since when does an American with a valid passport have to disclose "income" prior to or after traveling? Obviously Janet "The System Worked" Neopolitano and the President wanted to harass and embarrass Yon - show him who's boss for his reporting the truth. Seems to me that worrying about foreigners with exploding underwear is more important than verifying American's income. Apparently not. |
