Today I opened my electricity bill to find a golden opportunity for an
Al Gore believer to step forward and do something about global
warming.
Here's the deal:
For only 1.5 cents more per kilowatt-hour of electricity usage, I can
purchase renewable energy certificates equal to 100% of my monthly
usage. As I average about 1000 kWh per month, this would amount to
*only* $15 per month in addition to my normal bill.
So, here is a chance to make a difference. You send me $15 per month,
and I sign up for the program! Then, 100% of my electricity usage will
be from renewable energy sources, to wit: 69% wind and 31% biomass
from facilities in Missouri, Indiana, and Louisiana.
WHAT A DEAL!
I know several of you will want to participate, so I must take the
first offer. Also, as I don't want to jerk the electric company around
every month, I'd like to get a years worth of payment in advance. Just
send a check for $180 and we're good.

Do you seriously think anyone here with half a brain would trust you with
$15? How about this... give me your electric company's phone number and
your
account number. I'll pay them the $180 directly. Put up or shut up.

--
Nom=de=Plume

Cool. Send me an email. I don't want to broadcast my account number
over the internet. There are some folks here who are not very
trustworthy.

Better yet, how about I send the info to Tim, and you send the $180 to
Tim?

Either way, let me know.

One other thing... I thought you said several times that you've plonked me,
so I guess you just lied?

That *******, that is my trick to pretend i have plonked someone. you
would think these morons could come up with their own lies and stop
copying mine. I don't know if you noticed, but Don and i had a system
worked out, where he would quote everyone's post, so i could respond to
the post, and then pretend i didn't see their response. Now that Don
has gone incognito, i had to stop my foolish pretense.

I understand your concern. I don't have your email address. You can email me

Tim?

I'm happy to send him email as well, but I don't have his email address. In
any case, I'm willing to pay the company directly, but I'm not willing to
send you or any individual a check.

Either way, let me know.

Done.

As you don't want to send a check to anyone, but are willing to pay
the company directly, here is the way it will have to be done:

1. Call the Dominion Customer Service Center at 1-888-667-3000 and
tell them you want to buy Dominion Green Power.
2. Tell them you want the 'Block Option' , explained below:

"Block Option"

* Pricing Details: This option allows you to purchase RECs in any
$2 fixed increment - as much as you wish. Each block represents 133
kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy and costs $2 (based on a rate
of $0.015 per kWh).
* For Example: You can choose to add as much as you want per month
($2, $4, $6, $8, $10, $20… you choose!) to your monthly electricity
bill to support renewable energy. The amount is up to you, and will be
the same fixed amount on your bill each month.
* Benefit of Participation: If you enroll in the "Block Option"
for $10 more per month for one year, you reduce greenhouse gas
emissions equal to removing one car from the road for a year. The more
you buy, the more benefits you create.*

3. Purchase $180 worth of RECs, and have them placed in my account. My
account number is coming to your email address.

added to my electric bill.

So, let's look at alternatives. Are you saying there is no one here
that you trust with $180? We're not talking big money here.

If you send the money to Tim, I'll have my account adjusted. Then I
can publish a photo of my statement each month proving that I'm paying

How about this... you make the payment (I'm assuming you can afford it),
post a copy of the paid bill with the extra $180, then I'll send you money
order via regular mail. I'm going to France for a short trip beginning on
1/1. Assuming there are no terrorists on the plane, I return Thursday next.
If I see it's been paid, the MO will go out the next business day.

Cool. Send me an email. I don't want to broadcast my account number
over the internet. There are some folks here who are not very
trustworthy.

Better yet, how about I send the info to Tim, and you send the $180 to
Tim?

Either way, let me know.

One other thing... I thought you said several times that you've plonked
me,
so I guess you just lied?

No. You were plonked. But, I saw Tim's response to your email went to
Google to answer you direct. Then I came back into Agent and
'unplonked' you. I don't lie. Have no reason to.

Once we're through with this discussion I'll filter you again, just
'cause most of what you have to say is drivel, and you say it over,
and over, and over, ad nauseum.

All decisions, even those of liberals, are the result of binary thinking.

I think you should start now...
