Actually the death rate from knife wounds and handgun wounds is about the
same. 20-22%. This excludes minor cuts where the knife does not really
enter the body.

If a gun weren't available, how many of those assaults would be
perforned by a knife or ice pick?
It's easy to cherry pick numbers, and offer an illusory conclusion
without offering access to the full data and knowing who's doing the
data gathering and statistical analysis (to know what their agenda may
be).
