TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Four police officers were shot and killed Sunday
morning in what authorities called a targeted ambush at a coffee house
in Washington state, a sheriff's official said.

Officials at the scene told The News Tribune in Tacoma two gunmen
burst into the Forza Coffee Co. and shot the four uniformed officers
as they were working on their laptop computers, then fled the scene.

Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said investigators believe
the officers were targeted, and it was not a robbery.

Troyer tells the newspaper ''it was just a flat out ambush.''

He could not immediately say what agency the officers were from.
Police were searching for two suspect and interviewing witnesses. The
coffee shop is near McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, about 35 miles
south of Seattle.

''We hopefully will have answers, but there is nothing more we can
tell you,'' Troyer told KING-TV. ''That's as cold-hearted as it is.''

Roads were blocked around the attack. A witness driving past told the
newspaper he saw an officer on the ground just after the shootings.

Wonder what these cops (or one of them) were into that got somebody that
****ed off? Folks don't take chances of a guaranteed 'lectric chair (or
LWP) for nothing. Either way, just for the record, I believe that should
be the punishment for anybody who kills a cop, firefighter or EMS while
they are on duty.. Especially if they are in uniform.

What about when they're not on duty? Then it's ok?

It was ONE guy with a gun who was able to kill 4 armed cops in a few
moments.

Doesn't bode well for those who argue that carrying weapons ensures
safety. These are highly trained professionals, armed. Dead.

Let's get more guns out on the streets, quick.

Let's ask Mike Huckabee why he let the perp out on clemency 20
something years short of his sentence in Arkansas.

Yeah. More laws. That ought to do it. It certainly has worked so far,
hasn't it?

Steve

I'm for laws that make it illegal for criminals to own, possess, or use
guns. I am for laws that require all law abiding citizens to own guns
and practice with them regularly. Shooting at tree stumps is an
excellent confidence builder.

Disarm cops if they can't defend themselves, or the public. The armed

Liberal bull****. That's right - bull****.

"Over the course of the 20th century, the UK gradually implemented
tighter regulation of the civilian ownership of firearms through the
enactment of the 1968, 1988, 1994 and 1997 Firearms (Amendment) Acts
leading to the current outright ban on the ownership of all automatic,
and most self-loading, firearms in the UK. The ownership of
breech-loading handguns is, in particular, also very tightly
controlled and effectively limited (other than in Northern Ireland) to
those persons who may require such a handgun for the non routine
humane killing of injured or dangerous animals.

Each firearm owned must be registered on a Firearms Certificate (FAC)
or shotgun certificate which is issued by the local police authority
who will require the prospective owner to demonstrate a "good reason"
for each firearm held (e.g. pest control or target shooting) and may
place restrictions on the FAC relating to the type and amount of
ammunition that is held and the places and the uses the firearms are
put to. Historically, most certificates approved for handguns listed
"self defence" as a reason. Since 1968 in mainland Britain,
self-defense alone is not considered an acceptable "good reason" for
firearm ownership. Only in Northern Ireland is self-defence still
accepted as a reason. The police should not amend, revoke (even
partially) or refuse an FAC without stating a valid reason. (Section
29(1) of the 1968 Act gives the chief officer power to vary, by a
notice in writing, any such condition not prescribed by the rules made
by the Secretary of State. The notice may require the holder to
deliver the certificate to the chief officer within twenty one days
for the purpose of amending the conditions. The certificate may be
revoked if the holder fails to comply with such a requirement.)

Compare and contrast.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/no...shootings-rise

"They reveal that the number of actual shootings has almost doubled
from 123 to 236 in the last six months compared with the same period
last year, a rise of 91.8%. Serious firearms offences have risen by
47% across the capital."

That's a country with one of the strictest gun control legislation in
the world.

Criminals will still get guns - or even make them.

Violence will always happen. Ghttp://i45.tinypic.com/20ueijp.jpgo to your local max security prison
sometime and ask for a tour of their weapons museum - you'd be amazed
at how easy it is to make a .22 single shot hand gun from some simple
materials - never mind shanks, shivs, gasoline/butane in light bulbs -
you name it, anything can be weaponized. Don't have a bullet to use?
Rubber bands or shaved plastic handles from toothbrushes - a spring is
just as good at throwing a projectile as gunpowder.

It's usually easy to spot spoofing 'cause the tone of the post is
different than usual.

In this case, the foul language used by 'jps' is quite normal.
Although, since the arrival of 'nomdeplum', he uses such language more
frequently.

Must be an 'attempt to impress a space cadet' thing.

murderous criminials will not be able to repeat this crime again.
When guns are outlawed, only outlaws have guns.
That's a canard. When guns are regulated, fewer outlaws have guns.

No , that is the sound of the least amount of intelligence flying
right over your head. And not that far above either.
You ****, only an idiot owns handguns.

Do you feel that using vulgarities will increase your masculinity?

If some of you bozos would learn to read the headers you would know one of
your's is spoofing posters ID's. Your ID would be easy to spoof as you use
Google.

Feel better now.

I think it's pretty obvious even without doing that... but perhaps so are
not so bright.

The ones who spoof my ID here can't write, spell or punctuate.

achmed the sock puppet, or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting
your time by trying to *communicate* with me through rec.boats, because,
well, you are among the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster, and I
don't read the vomit you post, except by accident on occasion. As
always, have a nice, simple-minded day.

Hey, he only uses it for effect. Ask him.

At least JPS *is* JPS...you and TopBass are just sock puppets.

Well that makes it ok then. Sorry.

Yeah, well it gives him a bit of credibility you and the other sock
puppets don't have, quacker.

How do you figure that? **** for brains. H the K doesn't make moronic
statements like you just did.

You could be replaced with a dead tree branch.

Actually, herring could be replaced by the air inside a bag of hot air.
A dead tree branch has possible uses. There's no use for john herring.

You're beginning to sound like my boy Don.

Pffftttt, talk about naive
Is that the sound you make when you bend over?
It's the sound me makes when he's at his most intelligent.
The sound "YOU" makes?

You're not denying it, you're just being a typocop.

Nom=de=Plume

Would that be "typocop?" or "Typo cop?" or Typo-cop?"

Besides, the statement in question: "It's the sound me makes when he's
at his most intelligent." makes no sense. So, how can it be
confirmed, or denied?"

I take it back, you're being a dip**** in addition to being a typocop.

Now someone is spoofing Ms Plume. Get a life idiots.
