Most of those went away when the minimum wage was implemented. All those jobs the kids did starting out and learning how to be a worker disappeared. Raise the cost of business too much, and the business will disappear. Just like in California. Raise the sales tax to 9.75%. Probably a boom in internet sales. People like me that were planing a trip anyway, replaced the tires in another state. Saved 4.5% on $800. Wife said too bad we were not planing a trip to Oregon. Want a nice paint job on your car? I can see it now. The year is 2012 and Obama is saying if you give me another 4 years we can finally get started on getting undone what Bush did. Before the campaign, all we heard was jobs, jobs, jobs. Now all we hear about are how many jobs were created or "saved". Inflated imaginings are what they are. And now we are all hearing about how many jobs this health manifesto will create. My question is: When? Steve The unemployment claims are dropping every month from a high of 700K to 190K last month. I know this bothers you, but things are getting better, or rather, the rate of unemployment is slowing. -- Nom=de=Plume The rate of unemployment should now be negative according to the reasons for the stimulus package. No. It typically takes a year at a minimum for job numbers to turn positive. In a deep recession, it takes even longer. -- Nom=de=Plume |
