A Short Horror Flick or Phil Collin's Evil Twin Brother

I subscribe to OedipusColoneus on Youtube so that I can on occasion
relax with some mellow music. And if it's an exceptional piece, I'll
download it. This following video was a bit more than I bargained
for, though. The vocalist looks like an early Genesis reject:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn60q0LlPyE

I won't sleep well tonight.

Yeah, he's not the cutest person in the world. Of course, I'm not
either.

But Dominique has a very unique voice. Not quite as unique as
Alessandro Moreschi, or Celestial Yoo. (for obvious reasons) . But
very enjoyable to listen to.

Sometimes, when I'm working in the evenings, I'll bring up my Youtube
subscriptions, and I'll look up the most recent Oedipus submissions.
I'll select one and return to the project at hand. I'm sure you've
had that experience, Tim, in which you are focused on reading or some
other mental chore, you perfunctorily pick up your drink, and you're
hit with that peculiar taste dichotomy. You expect to taste
fresh-brewed coffee, and you're actually accosted by a battery-acid
soft drink. That's what I experienced when I finally glanced at the
video. What I saw wasn't what I was expecting relative to what I had
been listening to. This is just a meager vignette, though. There
are larger issues to deal with :)

Looney Tunes seems appropriate for Scott Ingersoll...he of the arrested
development.

My kids were in the local High School production of "Fiddler on the
Roof." My son was the Rabbi. I had introduced my children to the
movie version, with Topol, years earlier. My son was also in "Beauty
and the Beast," playing the part of Gaston's sidekick. He had gotten
a scholarship in college in musical production. Unfortunately, he
never stayed with it. He's a bit of an underachiever.

After I wrote my response, it occurred to me that "Steppenwolfe" could
be confused with Herman Hesse' novel, though the spelling still
wouldn't be correct. I'm too busy this morning to be writing notes in
the NG anyway. Oh well, back to the grind... :)

Believe it or not, Scott, I do listen to Opera, and Boston, and
Wagner, and Steppenwolfe, John Lee hooker, Taj Mahal, Brahms, etc. I
appreciate people who are more talented than I. But that doesn't take
much.

I also listen to lots of stuff, but never liked opera.

I'm sure you've heard Rossini's "Barber of Seville." *It's hard not to
enjoy, especially for Looney Tunes afficianados.

Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny in "The Rabbit of Seville"? *That episode is

Yeah, he's not the cutest person in the world. Of course, I'm not
either.

But Dominique has a very unique voice. *Not quite as *unique as
Alessandro Moreschi, or Celestial Yoo. (for obvious reasons) . But
very enjoyable to listen to.

Sometimes, when I'm working in the evenings, I'll bring up my Youtube
subscriptions, and I'll look up the most recent Oedipus submissions..
I'll select one and return to the project at hand. *I'm sure you've
had that experience, Tim, in which you are focused on reading or some
other mental chore,

"Mental chore?" *who? ... me?

Come on, Tim, focus! *:)

Oh man. Do I have to?

you perfunctorily pick up your drink, and you're
hit with that peculiar taste dichotomy. *You expect to taste
fresh-brewed coffee, and you're actually accosted by a battery-acid
soft drink.

Well, when I make coffee, my wife says it tastes like battery acid.
Like, how would she know what battery acid tastes like? I've tasted
battery acid, and believe me, coffee is better.

That's kind of a rite-of-passage into manhood, isn't it, drinking
battery acid?

Well, I never actually DRANK it, and not by the mouthful, but I have
tasted it.

Several, several years ago in another lifetime, I drank stuff that may
as well have been battery acid, though.

Genuine German Schnapps that tastes like kerosene. Italian wine that
was the consistancy of vinager. Of course the Italians sold it for the
equivilency of .75c a gallon. i swear the true Greek Ouzo had a
skull on the label. It even looked like iodine!!

I'm glad those days are loooong gone!

If I were Harry, I would have willingly shuffle off my mortal coil.
Maybe the guy is just my evil twin brother that I never knew I had,
seperated at birth perhaps. The problem with that theory, though, is
that the real Harry is much older than I am, I'm sure. Afterall, he
recently claimed that Scott's IQ was less than his [Harry's] age (or
something along those lines). That would put Harry around 140 to 170
years old.

I'm in my 60's. Ingersoll's IQ is lower than that number, figuratively,
if not literally.
