Who are the lobbyists lobbying?

If the Democrats have enough votes to pass the friggin' health bill,
why are we reading about lobbyists screwing up the passage.

Surely it's not *Democrats* being influenced by those damn lobbyists!
Only Republicans, or so liberals say, are lacking in the integrity
needed to do what's best for the country.

Or maybe that's not the case.

Yes, that's the problem... They're all being influenced by the Ins. special
interest. There's just too much money floating around. This is not, in my
opinion, a Dem. vs. Rep. issue. This is a national crisis. I don't get why
these people (both sides) feel that they couldn't just say screw you to the
Ins. lobby. It would be a political hot-potato if either side took the money
and voted against reform. Instead they act like they can't get reelected
without the money. They should be using their opponent's Ins. lobby derived
finances as a campaign point.

No, the problem is not both sides. The problem is your 'holier than
thou' Democrats who are caving to the dollar signs. The Dems don't
need the Republicans to pass the damn bill. They need the Republicans
as a whipping boy 'cause they can't get their hands out of the till.

Typical liberals.

Huh? The Republicans are only interested in obstruction. If they were
interested in passing meaningful reform, they wouldn't be a monolithic body
of "no" no matter what. They are certainly part of the problem. I can't find
one Republican in the Senate for example that supports meaningful reform. I
can find many Democrats, but not all of them (which is sad and troubling).

You are being purposely blind.

What Republicans want or don't want is beside the point. Pelosi and
Reid have made it clear that the Republicans aren't needed. Why, then,
are the Republicans being accused of holding up the show.

They're being used as an excuse.

Because they're not helping. They do everything they can to slow down the
process. Are you now claiming that doesn't make a difference??

So, you're not disputing that the Republicans are doing everything they can
to prevent healthcare reform. Just because someone doesn't need help isn't a
license to make it even harder. What would happen if some of the supposed
pure Rep. thought about country first and voted for positive change.
