He had been in office for exactly TWO WEEKS before the selection was
made on Feb 1st of this year. He hasn't even been in office for a
freakin' year yet.

Isreal is planning an Iranian raid, he's got two wars going, is also
preparing for an Iranian incursion, he hasn't passed any of his agenda
and isn't likely to, he's backed off on every single campaign promise
he made including Gitmo, the economy is a wreck, Chrysler is doing
down the tubes as fast as you can say it with GM right behind, thrown
more of his homies under the bus than you can count, kept his mouth
shut about the Georgian/Russian conflict, threw the Iranians under the
bus when they revolted, backing a corrupt politician in Honduras, lost
the Olympics for Chicago and he wins a Peace Prize?

There isn't anybody else in the world working for peace that deserved
the prize?

It's a joke - has to be. Only it's not April.

This could explain it:

"- Myth: The prize is awarded to recognize efforts for peace, human
rights and democracy only after they have proven successful."

"More often, the prize is awarded to encourage those who receive it to
see the effort through, sometimes at critical moments."

IOW, they hope he will change.

Republicans hate America but hate peace even more.

So you are not willing to address the point that the prize should have
a criteria of extraordinary achievement, or a lifetime of productive
dedication and sacrifice to a humanitarian cause. As it stands now,
it's only an award for celebrity.

You righties seem to think what you call your "points" should be
addressed. By now, you should have figured out that I don't give a
flying **** about the opinions of you righties. All they are are
opportunities for ridicule, and not worthy of serious response.

The Nobel Committee sets the criteria for awarding the prizes, not a
bunch of low-brain-output righties.

Have a nice dull day.

Unlike those on the right, I'm always glad when Americans and America
win positive recognition in the world. Unlike those on the right, I love
America.

Sure you do. WAFA

Wow, Harry's sure changed his attitude about the USA in the past two
days! A year ago it was Costa Rica he was in love with.

Anyway, the Red Skelton video should be mandatory in every public
school classroom in America.

Alfred must be spinning in his grave at the warping of the award.

Wouldn't it be nicer, though, if he had actually had the time to EARN
the recognition? Why be in such haste?

The criteria for the award is set by the Nobel committee. Obama met the
committee's criteria. The side benefit is that it is giving many righties
apoplexy. That in itself is worthy of recognition.

Makes the Nobel Committee less than nothing.

What's obvious is that you are incapable of refuting Jack's "point."
Of course, if your desire is to imitate or emulate the President,
proffering empty rhetoric like you have just done might win you the
Nobel Peace Prize.

Actually the Nobel committee has proved they are a bunch of Low Brain Output
people. And HK is proving it also.

Nope. Just 90% in Afghanistan. Racism is about a race. It has nothing to do
with a cultures population. Most in Afghanistan don't know the concept of a
unified country (much like the U.S.) or care. You are not going to succeed
with bribes or psychotherapy.

If you can convince the real Muslims that they can be protected, or
protect themselves, or have a government that will protect them, they
will solve the problem, just like we did here in the US with the KKK...

The problem the population of Afghanistan is the same as Viet Nam - they see
the U.S. as a problem.

But there will always be individuals who are following some far off
agenda and will need to be suppressed.

Yes. 90% of the population.

The U.S. should leave them alone. The plan to get them to "think like us"
has never worked anywhere unless under a huge, oppressive thumb. Puppet
governments imposed on them is useless and immoral.

More importantly, don't get more servicemen killed in the futile effort.
There's nothing to win.

IF they were convinced and converted, the dedicated enemy will go elsewhere.
Their recruitment is powerful and successful. Then it can start all over
again. How many dead Americans are worth the effort?? Please provide a
number where it should be cut off.
