![]() I wouldn't pick out Medicare as a good example. They collect 3% of every wage dollar earned in the country, only provide health care for about 15% of the population and they are going broke. Their waste and fraud rate is worse than the insurance company "overhead" we keep hearing about. Hard to know what to believe. The Republicans have always been opposed to Social Security and Medicare. Info from that side is, and always will be, that these programs don't work. Republicans have been opposed to child labor laws, and worker protection laws. They have favored poll taxes and I'm sure there are many who would like to go back to the days of only white male property owners being able to vote. By the way, I had a moment of awakening while watching Fox News "What's the matter with Acorn." I now understand the issue with Acorn. It's exactly the paragraph above. Acorn gave rights to people who the Republican's deep down don't believe deserve the same rights and privileges that the rest enjoy. It's the voter registration drive that really ****es them off. How DARE them register people who didn't earn their place in society. |
