You just keep on making it up as you go, don't you? It's called a "red herring" argument, an informal fallacy, and he uses it consistently without scruple. I don't think progressives ever really study these informal fallacies (or formal) that they are so fond of using. And that's odd, because they use them so meticuously. I can understand using this type of argument if your position can't stand on it's own merits. But that begs the question: Why would you take a position that doesn't stand on it's own merits?
