Title IX is not about money.... it is about discrimination based on

in school.... any difference in funding from the school?

Now, the hammer is that if the school receives Federal Assistance, the
school can't treat the girls that way.

I guess, if you want to create a school and pay your own way, you can

I suppose they exist, but I cannot offhand think of any decent colleges
or universities that receive "no federal assistance." Even if they have
students with federal grants, the schools are receiving federal assistance.- Hide quoted text -

Depends on what you call a "decent" school, Harry.

Oh and if the students recieve federal and state grants, then the
schools do too?

I suppose that applies to all the schools vendors as well. Even the
power company that feeds the school electricity....

Sure the guys got more funding than the girls when I was in school,
because the guy's side of sports is more pupular, and it is still
today.

But now that you mention it, a lot of schools budgeting goes into the
sports program and in many cases academics suffer because of such.

But, what's new?

If the students use taxpayer guaranteed money to pay tuition, et cetera,
yeah, the schools are recipients of taxpayer largess. Also, the schools
have to be on an "approved" list. It would be difficult to get a federal
student loan or Pell grant to attend Harry's College of Debauchery for
Of-Age Young Women.

Title 9, Ted Kennedy. We're indebted to him despite his faults.

"It is difficult to characterize the impact of Title IX on athletics
in an unbiased way. Advocates cite increases in female athletic
participation; however, such increases might have occurred in the
absence of legislation."
[...]
"The law was renamed as the Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in
Education Act on October 29, 2002, upon the death of the law's
principal author, Congresswoman Patsy T. Mink. It was also written by
Oregon Congresswoman Edith Green."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_IX

Teddy was instrumental in getting it through.

"Teddy"? *I don't suppose you have a shrine in your basement?

I don't suppose you're ignorant of what he actually did with his life. What
did you do that even comes close?

--
Nom=de=Plume

I cannot speak for whom your question is directed, but I can only
speak for myself.

I am not ignorant of what the senator actually did with his life. And
what I have done doesn't even come close.

I stayed sober, drug free and have lived in marriage with the same
woman for thirty-seven years!

Herr Krause. You seem intimidated by the religious to the point that
you would draft foolish statements. Why are you so mockingly defensive
and belittling of those of faith?
