I'll bet he never left the scene of an accident to let a young girl die.

I think idol worshippers chalk that one up to 'youthful indiscretion.'

I'll take you at your word, but you also attempted to go after me with
some
ideological label re the "shrine" comment. That's better left to shrill
and
timid people.

I find it odd that anyone would speak of any politician
affectionately, unless those person were immediately related. *I also
think it odd for any person to idolize another person, regardless of
stature and estate, unless the other person is immediate family.

Why? What if that person helped you, your family, another relation, or just
a friend. Wouldn't you mentioned it after he or she died?

Where do you get the "idolize" part? Someone else is talking about a shrine
in the basement. I'm talking about acknowledging someone's accomplishments.

The late senator was a popular statesman, yet had been known for his
drunken licentiousness and dubious affairs.

But otherwise he signed some good bills occasionally.

I agree. He wasn't a drunk or a cheat in recent times. He cleaned up and got
his act together.

No Pennie. No concern from me. But perhaps you would prefer to be
called "Senator?"

Many people do seek penance later in life. Especially when they are
concerned for facing the Almighty.

Why , Pennie!

Of course I am being gentlemanly. I have not hurled barbing curses at
you, have I?

And concerned? Why should I be concerned about comments made on
rec.boats?
